  1. there is plenty for the mlbpa to argue about with drug testing - frequency, penalties, what exactly is banned, drawing of blood, etc. salary cap and revenue sharing are likelier to cause a strike imho, though i dont think it will happen.
  2. AP jobs aren't really all that great or prestigious. Jesus, you are always a killjoy. Your title should be "Negative Nancy." I apologize. AP jobs are the pinnacle of the profession and all the best writers fight for them. a blogger would've spelled it correctly.
  3. lol what he needs is a 'friend' to tell him its time to hang up the cleats and join the workforce.
  4. but they got a year of gordon though. suck on that, urbana!
  5. i think i'm only going to watch home games from now on.
  6. wait until they make you take down the banner, haha. i've never heard of this, and cant tell if this is just friendly snood/sully banter. is there any official investigation at this point?
  7. magic supposedly had undetectable levels of the virus due to years of taking the best drugs. he's not exactly in the clear as they can develop resistance.
  8. i'm not so sure about braggin rights next year. our backcourt will be more inexperienced (though more talented), and may have problems with full court pressure. idk what mizzou will graduate this year.
  9. you ran on the court or ran in front of the flag when they run in the stands? i was once at a game where they were running through the stands and some litttle girl stepped in front of the flag carrier. they run pretty hard, i'm sure it wasnt pretty.
  10. kramer got away with a blatant hack because he hustles
  11. please score today.
  12. i thought we were only using "dusty strikes again" to describe pitching injuries? i came here expecting to hear of some phenom's arm hanging by threads. i leave disappointed.
  13. wait, they used a replay for that? i thought they just missed the call live , and the tv guys were rehashing it.
  14. legion can start producing any time now
  15. haha i was waiting for this. we need to score tonight. lets at least get into the 60's.
  16. Yes they did. And it was glorious. It's great when even good ole Rat Face's whining can't make a difference for them. i'm mad at myself for not watching this. i guess i was still in mourning over IU blowing their perfect BT season.
  17. well now its a 2 man race for BTPOY. (neither from purdue, btw) this illinois team cant buy a basket. i'm starting to regret getting excited about this season. davis hasnt done much of anything since the conference schedule started, averaging 8 and 5.
  18. was there any blood? noses always bleed like a B.
  19. on pace for less than 24 points
  20. Illinois is going to shoot 20% from the field today i just know it.
  21. Your team usually has to be, you know, good to win Big Ten POY. If Harangody leads the Big East in scoring and rebounding again (he's doing both rather easily right now) and doesn't win Big East POY, I'll be pissed regardless of ND's standing, and I'd imagine the same applies to Harris and UM. If Harris proves to be the best player, he should win the award. If not they should change it to conference MVP and be done with it. That said, I'm sure someone will prove to be at least as deserving for a more competitive team. Depends on who finishes where obviously. If Purdue finishes top 3 I could see Hummel or Johnson winning it. Johnson has been the best center in the Big Ten (16th in points, 11th in rebounds, 3rd in FG%, 1st in blocks). Meanwhile Hummel is still putting up very good numbers despite playing with a bad back and not practicing a single day since December. Plus he has the preseason player of the year going for him. People could vote for him because it makes them look good for picking him in the preseason. Right now I would vote for Harris but there isn't a clear cut definite favorite. i dont think you can be 16th in points and be BTPOY.
  22. i wasnt real encouraged to open the minor league forum for the first time in months to read we're ranked 27/30. where will the SS Lee play this season?
  23. They weren't bad college basketball players, they just weren't a good fit for a motion offense. I'll always be a fan of Brian Randle cause he was a genuinely nice guy every time I talked to him, and took way too much flack for his play. Beyond Brian and Shaun not fitting in the motion, Frazier spent most of the year hurt, DMac, Davis, and Tis were developing as freshmen, and we were a tremendously unlucky team. I always said last year's team was not nearly as their record showed, but even my most optimistic estimate had us as an 11 seed in the tourney. This has been pretty amazing. Yeah this has really made me rethink my opinion of Weber. I definately am glad he's our coach as I think our team, while very improved, has no buisness being 17-3. randle was a heckuva defender though. except for those 2 dumb fouls he would get 40 ft from the basket every game. big props to weber this year. just think if we had a legitimate post player?
