    If the Cubs get Manny, they might as well trade Murton. I like Murton, but Manny will block him for the next two years. While Murton could be used off the bench, he'd have more value in a trade than as a bench player. On the other hand, can Manny still play RF? How about Murton in left, Soriano in CF, and Manny in right. =P~

    I'm not surprised by ND's plummet. While their losses are to the #2 and #3 teams, they really weren't in either of those games. Had they played them close, it might have been different.

    A 2 loss LSU is more deserving than a 2 loss ND. Notre Dame's key victory is over Georgia Tech. LSU has victories over Arkansas and Tennesee. I'd love to see a bowl match-up between ND and LSU.

    LSU is looking good for a BCS bowl this year thanks to Friday's win and losses by Texas, West Virginia and Notre Dame.

    I was on the Wilkerson bandwgn last season and for a couple of years before that. He was abysmal in 2006, however. I'd be willing to take a small risk on him, but I'm concerned that injuries may have taken a toll on his body.

    I'd pay him 1 million base. 500 K for 100 games played. 500K for 110 games played. Add another 500K every 10 more games played. Then 4.5 million incentive if he wins the MVP. 9 million contract with incentives.

    I'm not opposed to Floyd. I wouldn't want a strict platoon, but he would be a decent bench player who would provide some pop from the left side. I don't, however, want to pay Floyd 9 million. If he could be signed to a contract that has a base around 1-3 million with some incentives carrying it to 4-5, I would be fine with that.

    We have Theriot too. But I agree, Lugo is by far and away the best SS available this year and next year via FA. A smart GM would look down the line to next year's FA market and see that even overpaying for Lugo a little is a smart move. You are right, we do have Theriot. I haven't a large enough sample size to judge Theriot by. He may be what he appeared to be or he may be a lot worse. I wouldn't want to count on him in 2007.
