    uh somewhere in this thread theres a point i made where 122 games of JD Drew is a heck of a lot better than 162 games of Soriano in CF. You can like up all of the GM's in baseball, and if you provided them a choice of Drew for 122 games, or Soriono for 162 games, they will take Soriono for 162...all of them. Anyone think that maybe Theo Epstein wouldn't agree....

    OPS isn't a "random" stat. And it only takes about 15 seconds to look it up at any number of sites. By not using OPS you openly admit to not using the stat that best determines offensive production in a cursory manner. So, how do you judge a good player?

    So, the concensus is that Jones is moving to CF and Soriano will play RF? Does anyone see a scenario where Jones is traded and Hendry brings back Pierre. Jimbo is throwing money around like it's beads and dubloons on Mardi Gras and all these FA have to do is show their [expletive].

    I wouldn't mind Crisp only because I would annoy everyone by repeatedly saying "I'm coo coo for Coco Crisp," everytime something exciting happened in a game thread.

    I'm still drunk on liquor and excitement from the Cowboys beating the Colts to completely comprehend this. I'm glad we signed Soriano. I'd have preferred Drew, but we needed a bat and we now have one. But [expletive] that's a huge deal. It's going to be an albatross in later years....but wow! Hendry is likely looking at it this way. 1. If Soriano helps us win, it's worth it. 2. If we don't win with Soriano, he won't be around to have to worry about that contract. Well, I guess Soriano got Beltran money and then some! [expletive]... And how about dem Cowboys! Woo! I gotta take a piss, this excitement is too much.

    At that price, I'd pass on Alou. I figured he'd be a couple of million cheaper. Though, if I had the choice I'd take Alou in RF over Jones.

    Despite all of the things that may have been aggravating about Alou, he still would have been more productive than any of the guys we had roaming the OF the past two years.
