  1. I'd be ok firing Joshua if the end result is getting Jaramillo from Texas.
  2. My assumption is that the results would be the same if you gave the test to any NFL team.
  3. Enjoyed myself at the UL-Monroe homecoming game and tailgating. My wife is alumni of the pharmacy school and they cooked up some damn good gumbo and jambalya at the tailgating tent. Then UL-Monroe played a good game. Came home in time to catch the end of the LSU game. Nice to see two good wins!
  4. Looks like I'm heading to Hooters to watch the Cowboys game on Sunday Ticket. Wings, [expletive], ass, and football. It's a winning combination!
  5. Yeah, the Browns are in quite a conundrum. Anderson has the stronger arm, he's just not that accurate. Quinn may make better decisions than Anderson, but he's just not that good. The Browns made the mistake of not trading one when they could. Now neither one would bring back much.
  6. I watched a little of this once when I was at Hooters and it was on. I found the girls bringing my wings far more interesting though. And the place was filled with the douchebag fans that others have mentioned. I like a good boxing match, but just haven't been able to get into this sport.
  7. I got this one in the bag, baby!
  8. How was your trip last week? Other than the outcome of the game, it was awesome. The stadium is freaking unbelievable. It really is the best venue I've ever watched a football game. It's indescribeable, really. We also had a lot of fun tailgating and everything. I'll be back there November 1 and then again for the Thanksgiving game. I'll probably see the Chargers game on Dec 13 too. I hated giving up my tickets for last night and had to give up the Oct. 25 game too. I'm really going to love going to that stadium.
  9. Damn it's nice to get a win. Defense stepped it up in the second half...albeit against a shitty Carolina team. Hopefully, they wake up and start playing better. I also hope Victor Butler sees a little more playing time.
  10. If you don't put Cox in, you might as well not have any managers in the hall of fame. Diminishing the 14 straight division titles is pretty ridiculous since that's probably the marker of his great career. Really, what more can you want out of a guy than to take 14 different teams and win the division each and every year.
  11. Was Ben heard singing "Deep in the heart of Texas" at any local watering holes? No, but his wife has been telling people that she wants him to be close to home and has told Sheets that Texas is where she wants him.
  12. And he won't be the 1st reciever taken in 2010. Right. It's a weak receiver class overall, but at this point wouldn't you rather have Dez Bryant? And even if somehow Crabtree was the No. 1 receiver taken, it's a very strong draft class, so he might not get picked until later in the first, anyway. I've got a mancrush on Dez Bryant, Jerry Jones needs to make a move to draft him next year. That's going to be hard to do with the 32nd pick in the draft. :D
  13. I'm really getting excited about Sunday! Go Cowboys!
  14. Los Angeles could use an NFL team...
  15. Beat me to it. So, I'm not the only one who has heard it. I feel that is pretty definitive considering where I heard it. I live about 15 minutes from The Ballpark In Arlington and have a friend that works in the ticket office, so I hear a lot of Rangers talk around here. My source supposedly got his info from Mrs. Sheets. I guess we'll see if it is reliable.
  16. Beat me to it. So, I'm not the only one who has heard it. I feel that is pretty definitive considering where I heard it.
  17. The problem isn't with the pre-season rankings; the problem comes from the fact that they are viewed as authoritatve and that voters are slow or reluctant to change when the games begin. The idea that if you win, you shouldn't drop in the rankings may be somewhat true late in the season, but may not be true at all early on. I really don't care that much. the top pretty much shakes out in the long run. And debating over who is more derserving of rankings 20-25 at the end of the season really doesn't matter all that much.
  18. Opening Day is the Monday after Easter. I'm off work, so if it's a day game, I'm there for certain. I'm also going to enjoy that weekend series @ Texas.
  19. I'm going to print the article for my 7th grade reading class with questions. I want to see their opinions on this.
  20. How do they not know that you are going to the game or have season tickets? Many of my co-workers know. I've kept that information from reaching the ears of the folks in the office. I'm trying to keep it that way.
  21. The closer it gets to Sunday, the harder it is to contain my excitement of going to the Cowboys-Giants game. I do have to sell that I'm sick on Monday, so I've been heard talking about my scratchy throat in the office.
  22. Yep. This is the way it should go. I'd prefer he declines arbitration, but if he accepts you're paying him a little too much, but there's no long-term commitment.
  23. I'm not reading this whole thread because I'm fairly certain I'd jab out my eyes with a pencil if I did, but here are my thoughts. I really don't see trading Zambrano as a good option if we plan to contend in the present. I do not think we'd get enough current value in the deal. The teams most willing to take on Zambrano and his contract would be teams built to win now and we'd likely only get b to b+ prospects back. But, if we could get a team to overpay for him with a top level prospect who could step in and take his place or get a quality major league pitcher and salary relief, then it's worth exploring. Trading him for trading's sake is a dumb idea, however.
  24. If Sheets is healthy enough to throw, he's signing with the Rangers.
  25. Yep...no suspensions for any of the Starcaps folks until the Williams litigation is done. He doesn't want to suspend some guys for something other guys aren't getting suspended for. Thanks. That's probably a fair approach.
