The only way I could see the players union agreeing to it is with a major concession such as the expanding of rosters are a large increase in the minimum salary.

I'd love to see a playoff for college football, but the more I look at it, I don't think any controversy will be eliminated unless the field is at least 12 teams. 12 teams would allow for conference champions in addition to providing enough at large to cover top five teams and unbeatens, I think. On the other hand, I don't think there's that much traction for the idea to have a field that large.

The Cowboys really don't have an easy game the rest of the way, but absolutely have to win at home against the Bolts.

If Roy Williams finally starts catching the ball, Dallas's offense will go into a whole new dimension.

Fourth year in a row that I'll be at the Cowboys game on Thanksgiving. I'm loving this "family" tradition.

They better wake up fast, or it's going to be a long December/January with games @ NYG, @ NO, @ Wash, and San Diego/Philly at home. Most weeks there are 16 games in the NFL season. The goal is to be one of the 16 winners. If you do that enough, you get a 17th game. That is ultimately the goal. The ugly win yesterday was just as important as the good win at Philly two weeks ago. Also, the players on the team haven't changed. While Dallas may look to have issues, and yes, they do, there is still a chance to fix the things that ail this team. I'd rather have an ugly win than lose a game. The Cowboys are still a 7-3 team and lead their division. Surely, the Vikings and Saints look to be the class of the conference, but that's meaningless at this point. Now, granted those teams are playing at a much higher level than this Cowboys team. Those teams look like they have the conference wrapped up and will be meeting in the conference championship. Two years ago, after week 11, that would have been the Cowboys and the Packers. Both teams were rolling with only 1 loss. In week, ten the Cowboys had just finished thrashing the eventual Superbowl champion Giants in their own stadium. The Giants in week eleven had an ugly win against a very bad Detroit Lions team and even followed that with a very bad defeat in week 13 against the Vikings. No one was thinking Giants and Superbowl at the end of November 2007. They put it together in late Decemeber and after beating the Cowboys in the playoffs, went on a roll. Last year, in week 11 Arizona had just come off an ugly win versus a 2-8 Seattle team. They were 7-3 at the team. They would go on to lose to the Giants in week 12 and the Eagles in week 13 to drop them to 7-5. Nothing about that team screamed Superbowl, but they made it there last year. It was week 11 last year, that the Eagles tied the then hapless Bengals and McNabb admitted he didn't know a game could end in a tie. They sat 5-4-1 then and looked anything but a playoff team. In fact, not only did they have to beat Dallas in the last game last year to get there, they needed help from a variety of scenarios. Yet, once all that fell into place, they put together a run that put them in the NFC championship game. So, what is my point? First, there is still time for the Cowboys to right this ship. I know the Cowboys' recent December struggles have left a lot of people skeptical, but just as Cub fans will say the past 100 years mean nothing to current teams, those struggles mean little to this team. But just because a team doesn't look like Superbowl caliber in week 11, does not mean they won't be there in January. Is there a lot this team needs to work on? Hell yes. The positives are there. Ugly win or not, the Cowboys still control our destiny. If we go 4-2 over the next six games, we're in the playoffs. I have no doubt of that. 3-3 or 2-4 might even get us there, though I hope we don't stumble in that way. I have little doubt that after the first round, regardless of how we get there, we're going to have to do it on the road. As daunting as that sounds, it's been done before. The past 2 years have shown us that. So yes the offense looks poor. I'm hoping the last two weeks stimulate this team to realize that while they have a great opportunity, they have to get it straightened out. It's not an easy road. In the past, it may have been too easy. And that led to December complacency. I think the talent is there on the Cowboys to go on a run. They have a tough final six. Win four of them, they will definitely play a 17th game. Win three, it's ify. Only winning two is a 9-7 finish and the Boys will need help.

A poster at newbergreport says that the only report of a Bradley for Millwood swap was that the Rangers GM characterized it as "dead" prior to the GM meetings. Take it for what it's worth.

The Newberg report is the best Rangers site I know, and I don't see any discussion of a Bradley + Miles for Millwood swap. I haven't paid much attention to baseball or talked to any of my Ranger contacts in awhile. I'm heading to Dallas for the Cowboys game on Sunday, so I'll listen to some sports radio and ask a few friends if there's any word of this.

Yeah. That loss is the nail in the coffin for the Panthers. With their upcoming schedule, there's no way they win enough to get into the WC picture.

I'll be back at Cowboys Stadium to watch the Cowboys take on the Redskins. It's a game we should win, but the Redskins and Cowboys always play each other tough. I'm also worried a little about the Cowboys injuries as this team doesn't have a lot of depth in those areas.

Wow...Brady Quinn sucks. The Browns will definitely need to look for a QB in the draft.

That would result in a huge change in the game. Would need a lot of thought to have an opinion on that. Changing 15 yarders to 2/3 of the distance to the goal would be easy to see the implications I was being a bit facetious. They have already done something similar with holding penalties and grounding in the end zone being a safety. That would be the next step.

How about if you commit a penalty and you don't have enough yards to back up that far, it's a safety.

The Cowboys need to get their [expletive] together. The Eagles are losing, so we can put more space between the rest of the division, but that was one bad half of football.
