    Yankees are probably just trying to drive the price up for Boston. And as a firstbaseman, Casey would probably be just as well. Lowell's value comes from his ability to play a pretty good thirdbase.

    There's some rumors the Dodgers are planning to make a push for Rowand. If they do, they'll have to move Pierre to LF. Pierre is bad in CF and even less in LF. I have no desire for Pierre, but it could be possible that the Cubs could get one of the Dodgers (Kemp or Loney) better young players if they were willing to take back Pierre. Pierre's contract is pretty bad, so the Dodgers would have to pick up a chunk of that as well.

    Joel Sheehan was being interviewed on XM175 and said that if Coletti had gone on a six month vacation last November 1, then the Dodgers would have won their division last year.

    According to the article referenced above (Link), Fukudome may not make a decisison until Thanksgiving. I'm hoping that my Thanksgiving holiday is marked by a Cowboys win over the Jets and as I return to the sister-in-law's for a nice dinner, I learn that the Cubs have signed Fukudome. Then, I can sit down and be thankful.

    I would rather have Hill than Crawford. I think I would too. I fear what the rotation would look like if we trade Hill. I'm not opposed to moving him if there's a plan to bring in a decent arm in another fashion, but Zambrano, Lilly, Dempster, Marquis, Marshall just is one blah rotation.

    If we shouldn't have a movie like that because it taints honorable soldiers, should we no longer air movies/shows that depict pedophile teachers because those also disparage an honorable profession? Should we not have movies/shows about corrupt law enforcement officers because it might cast dispersions on honorable law enforcers? Where do we draw the line? I'd hope that people that watch such whether about soldiers or other professions have the critical thinking ability to know it is the exception and not the norm.

    Cubs swap Jones for Infante, pay Jones Salary - $1M, board jeers Cubs swap Jones for Infante, Tigers pay all of Jones salary (we pay remaining signing bonus), board (jeers | cheers | says, "meh, I would have rather had prospects") Ah ok.....so, we're not paying anything but the signing bonus...that's a bit better.
