So they can actually get something for him rather than letting him walk? Oh, I agree that could be the case, but in that scenario they aren't going to trade him unless they get a package that they like. Cedeno, Gallagher, Dempster/Jones as proposed in the initial post for Dunn and Keppinger isn't it. If they trade Dunn prior to the deadline, it's going to take a player they like. I'd think Pie could be that player. Gallagher is a start, but my guess is that to get Dunn alone it would take one of Pie or Marmol in addition to Gallagher or Marshall.

Why would the Reds want to unload Dunn's contract? If they wanted a dump, they could have declined his option. They may trade Dunn, though they can't without his consent until June 15, but it will be because they believe they are getting value for him. My guess is that he'll be moved near the deadline next season if they don't work out an extension.

This thread is either going to turn into a Carrie Muskat bashing thread or it's going to end up being another back and forth over the value of Theriot. Somehow I'm not up for being too involved in either.

We need one more bat. I don't think it matters if it comes from CF, RF, or SS as long as it is in one of those areas. We can live with what we have in-house at any of those positions as long as one is greatly upgraded. I'd love to trade for Renteria or Tejeda if possible as I think that would do the most good. However, signing Bonds and shifting Soriano to right might do the trick as well. I'd kick the tires on Andruw Jones for CF. If Arod opts out, he's obviously the direction to go. I'd also be happy with Fukudome.

The Cowboys game was a lot of fun. And IMB, Allen Patrick and some other players from OU were sitting right across the aisle from me.

Just saw another replay of the hit that put Dorsey out of the game. I don't usually wish injury upon anyone, but if that freshman O-lineman for Auburn were to suffer a broken leg or something in the near future, I'd smile just a bit.
