    We may bitch and moan about ticket prices, but the secondary market is proof that prices haven't reached a point where people will not go to the ballpark. If people are willing to get on ebay, stubhub, or whatever and pay double the face value of a ticket, why shouldn't teams recognize that and raise the price to meet the demand? I know we all hate the fact that we'll have to spend more to do something we enjoy. For some, the increase may price us out of going. That sucks. But the market for tickets shows that right now, there is a greater demand and people are willing to pay.

    Well crap, after a few penalties, the Warhawks are going to have to punt from the two yard line with 3 mins left. They'll end up losing, but it was fun to think they could beat the Tide.

    I know Sheffield dropped his agent before his last deal with the Yankees, but I'm not sure if it was Boras. Boras still represents Andruw Jones.

    I voted Auburn-Alabama. I'm not a fan of either of those schools, but that's one nasty rivalry. Meph pointed it out, but Grambling-Southern who meet every year in the Bayou Classic is a huge rivalry as well. I work with people on both sides, and truth be told, it gets really ugly the week preceding that game.

    Just thinking out loud, but what if the Cubs are trying to swing a bigger deal with another team and that team is insisting on DeRosa being part of the package? That might explain it some, but I find it a bit far-fetched. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out, but if we sign Matsui, I'm going to find some new combinations of profanity.

    I keep hoping Bruce will come to this thread and squash this rumor. Of course, I'm fully prepared for the reality of Kaz Matsuii spending 3 years with the Cubs. This move baffles me. DeRosa is fine as a 2b. The only explanation for this move is if the Cubs want Matsui to play SS. Even then, I'm not that enamored with the move.

    Didn't see this posted anywhere, but it appears that the Cubs have hired Mark Riggins as minor league pitching coordinator replacing Alan Dunn who left to go to the Orioles organization. Link.

    Well, there goes Oregon's hopes of playing for a Nat'l Championship.

    If we do sign him, I hope we try him at SS. DeRosa is a better hitter and should not be sitting in favor of Matsui.
