The coaches would crown Georgia as they are contractually obligated to do that. The AP could do something different, however.

Not sure. Looking at what the Dodgers and Angels have said in regards to negotiations, I could see the Marlins wanting Pie, Soto, Murton, and Gallagher. They might prefer Marmol to one of those.

Not anything that hasn't been heard before when other teams have done the same thing. Personally, I don't really care about the conference champion label. LSU had 2 conference losses, Georgia had 2 conference losses. The fact that LSU played in the easier division doesn't mean in my mind that they should be given more consideration. Now if you say that LSU had the better resume, that is a different story,; but I'm not sure that can be proven. Both teams have two losses. LSU's were a combined 8 points and took 6 OT's for both to occur. Georgia's two losses were a combined 25 points. One was a blow-out to Tennessee. Yes, LSU had some close wins, but LSU also has the blow-out over VaTech.

According to ESPN, Matsui is in Houston and has passed his physical. The signing should be officially announced by the Astros tomorrow. Link.

Well, now we have BCS chaos. OSU is the lock, but who will they play? I think it should be between LSU, USC, Kansas, and Hawaii. Of course, Georgia and VaTech are in the running too, but I don't see how either of those should be chosen over LSU. It's going to be interesting to watch what the voters do. Will they just move everyone up a spot or will they rethink the ballots?

If you're going to add South Carolina for LSU, you need to add Oklahoma State for Georgia. In just about every computer ranking, Georgia had a slightly harder schedule then LSU did coming into today. The SEC title game should probably tilt that to make LSU have the slight edge in the schedule, but it will be close. My feeling is that LSU and Georgia had similar schedules. Both had 2 losses. LSU's game in OT. Georgia had one close loss and another where they were blown out by a team that LSU beat for the SEC championship.

I think the choice should come down to either LSU, USC, or Kansas. If Georgia or VTech get in, I'll be pissed simply because I think LSU has a better case than both of those. I couldn't make the same argument of LSU over USC or Kansas. I don't think Hawaii is all that good, but if they made it I could accept that as well.

I can't see why Georgia would get in over LSU. Georgia has two losses. They lost by 4 to South Carolina; Lost to Tennessee by 21. LSU has two losses, to Kentucky in 3 OT by 6 and to Arkansas by 2 in 3 OT. In looking for quality wins, both teams have wins over Bama, Florida, and Auburn. Georgia adds Georgia Tech and Kentucky. LSU adds Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It looks to me (and maybe I'm a homer), that the case is that if the choice is between LSU and Georgia, it should be LSU.
