  1. While I don't expect Lee to be this good next season, he does seem to have made adjustments which lead me to believe that he could perform at a very high level next season and beyond.
  2. You think this is bad, you should have seen us during the 8-game losing streak.
  3. And we're going to head to ST. Louis after losing a game in which we had a lead.... Williamson get healthy soon.
  4. This is horrible...man...our bullpen sucks and has no clue! Why I keep holding out hope for this season is beyond me!
  5. OML...did we just get out of that one!
  6. OML...did we just get out of that one!
  7. I've become quite amused at the combination of profanities he uses. I'm an expert at profanity usage and combination, and even I think I could learn a thing or two from Greg.
  8. Please don't ever say "chopper two hopper" ever again. :x
  9. Where is Lowell going to play? Ramirez is much better, so no to Lowell. I'm no fan of Pierre, but if taking him will get us Burnett, I could go for that...but not Lowell.
  10. Murton did his job as a number eight hitter with two out. He got on base and allowed the pitcher to bat. This allows us to begin the 3rd with the top of the order again. 37 pitches for Milton through two.
  11. I like both players. Last year, I made my obsessions about Wilkerson known.
  12. We need to win this game. Please be the good Maddux and not sucky Maddux today. Nice start, Junior.
  13. I'll play along, here goes... 1. Dunn 2. Alou 3. Carlos Lee (if the Brewers would move him.) 4. Floyd 5. L. Gonzalez 6. Ibanez
  14. The same reason he was in Houston back in April and he was in Atlanta earlier this month. Hendry very frequently, if not usually, travels with the team.
  15. Go Cubs. On the bright side, it can't look much worse than the effort produced tonight.
  16. I've waited way too long for this...but here goes. http://www.cloneshit.hu/content/2004/08/24/louis.jpg THIS THREAD BLOWS!
  17. Ribbie, Have you ever wanted a sidekick, like Yogi has Boo Boo? And do all bears like picnic baskets, or is that just a Yogi thing?
  18. Williamson did well at Iowa tonight. If he's back and healthy, there's no need to even look at Bottalico.
  19. All these attempts at character assassination... tsk tsk. I'm not starting any rumors - I just posted the facts. There's the Miles info and the McCoy info and they conflict. It'll all come out in the wash.... The Reds radio broadcast and Miles gave the same info, and that still is not enough? Columbus and ZZ give differing accounts. If I've kept it straight, Columbus on TV heard Hendry talk with Brenneman with Hendry saying the price was too steep for the Cubs. ZZ heard on the radio the converse, saying the price was too steep for the Reds. I think I've followed that, basically a bunch of misinformation and he said she said, nothing out of the ordinary given baseball trade talk near the deadline, especially with Hendry. Columbus heard it on the radio along with his wife and was sure that they said the Cubs said the price was too steep. This is lock step with what Bruce Miles said. I don't see where the differnce is? ? Both said there's no deal, which we can all agree on, but one said it was no deal for Hill, one said no deal for Hill, CP and Mitre. Big difference. It'll all come out in the wash. As stated, Hendry does a good job watching his back as he should to try and wrest the best deal. If he can get us Dunn and give up CP, Mitre and not Hill I'd be amazed and hope he can. It's been fun - I have a half-read Mad Magazine to attend to and a busy afternoon planned. This thread will live another day - and that surprises me. Go Cubs! Ok, maybe I'm just not following what you're saying, but Miles said that the deal, as mentioned, CP, Hill, Mitre, for Dunn, was not even offered. He said the Cubs wouldnt trade Hill for Dunn, let alone all three dudes. Are you really dense or can I just not read correctly? Cause it sounds like you think Miles said that Hendry declined a Hill for Dunn trade. I'm guessing that's a rhetorical question... :-k
  20. 24 hrs of discussing BS. Isn't the first and won't be the last time.
  21. Only 10 more days everyone. Of course, I'll be in Cooperstown at the deadline.
  22. Sometimes the mods are privy to info the rest of us are not. In this case, I think they made the right call. It's funny, you don't act the same way with Dusty. No doubt he is privvy to info you are not yet you have no problem criticizing him. What does that have to do with this thread? And I'm sure Dusty gets laid more than me too, huh?
  23. He got scooped by NSBB. Yeah, didn't this all start with Roast and Vance? Who me?
  24. He got scooped by NSBB. Which is precisely why I thought the rumor was bogus. Hal McCoy gave it some validity - doesn't mean he's totally right, but I'll believe him before the person who started this thread. Call me crazy. You're crazy.
