    Or if its the bottom of the 9th, the game, bragging rights, and homefield advantage in the world series are on the line, and you have arguably the best hitter in baseball as the last guy on your bench. Exactly, like the old saying in the NFL, in the last cpl of seconds play for the tie on the road and go for the win at home. Or is is it the other way around???? does it matter TLR did have the huevos to finish it.

    up until the last two years Derrick has been a 2nd half player, which I am hoping happens. Is it worth switcing him now for a cpl of games then have him get hot post ASG and move hime back?

    It reminds us of our childhood when dad would listen to the game on radio, or for me running home from schoo just in time to catch the last 4 innings on WGN and Jack Brickhouse making the call. We all played the game, probably the first organize sport any of us played.

    This upsets me, one of our minor league teams not being supported. I do believe they need to develop the talent they have so they can trade it to us next year. At least the buckos can still remember the last theme song when they won the WS. Nobody is alive that can remember ours.

    The World Series, of all events in sports, doesn't need gimmicks. Dumb idea. Stupid. Don't mess with the classic 7-game series format. Doesn't surprise me that Bud likes the idea. Unfortunately Fox has a new gimmick for the WS they are proposing a "min-series" style play-off, competing with Monday Night football. I wonder if Boris has talked to Fox already???

    No to the All-star game for the pitchers and Ramirez and Lee!! give them the time off to recoup and come out firing for the second half.
