New sod is usually a bit of a problem. But there are 10 days before any potential game on that field, it should be in good shape by then. Football teams sometimes resod midweek, and there's a lot more starting and stopping in that sport. Odds are you'll see some clumps come up here and there, and it will be noticeable for the TV cameras, but given the time frame, a quality grounds crew should be able to make it playable and relatively safe. Obviously it isn't the width of sod I just installed on my back lawn, I can't see it rooting in 10 days wouldn't it or couldn't it be like a rug on a hardwood floor and slip a little or trip over the seems?
