    source on this? this is very good news for Bradley advocates. the Blue Jays turned down a player of Bradley's caliber to keep a pitcher that is less than average in every role he has played. I don't do this often, but.. Maddux have a no trade? will he waive it to go to LA? Maddux for Bradley, use Maddux's money to find a pitcher. either sign the best of the current crop (Millwood) or, to cut down the prospect cost, who's looking to dump a good, expensive pitcher at the end of his contract? Source is Rotoworld. Maddux does have a no trade clause. We're stuck with him.

    Cardinal fans ARE up in arms (see the PD message board). I'm not. What do you sugget they spend their money on? Jacques Jones? Johnny Damon? Kevin Millwood? No thanks. So you're happy with your team as is?

    The thing that I don't get with the Cardinals is that they bring in fans every year, they have a new stadium which will bring in new revenue, so why aren't they spending money? If the Trib did this Cub fans would be up in arms.

    Why do you think Tim said no arb to Nomar wasn't the worst thing that happened these last few days? Because he read the thread where I mentioned being in a plane crash? :) Uh...yeah. I figured it's a little bit worse to be in a plane crash than to learn the Gremlin won't be on the team next year. :D

    Believing something posted on an ESPN message board will get you nowhere in a hurry. Unless many actually heard XM report this, I'm guessing there is not a lot of truth there. You beat me to it. Can't believe much said on ESPN message boards. About as good as Cubs.com message board. I doubt it's true.

    I could see that happening. The guys on mlb radio were talking about Wilkerson probably on his way to another team.

    Levine just reported on ESPN 1000 that the White Sox have traded Marte to the Pirates for Mackowiak.

    Another Marte is on the move today. Damaso Marte was just traded from the White Sox to the Pirates for Rob Mackowiak. Reported by Levine on ESPN 1000.

    I guess the Braves don't have high hopes for Betemit. Wonder how much money the Red Sox are sending. Still, stupid deal for the Braves IMO.

    Do the Red Sox go hard after Lugo now? Do they just plug someone in to SS for the season? I don't really understand this trade from either side, although Marte was seemingly blocked by Chipper with his new contract. But still.

    Not to get political here but this problem kind of reminds me of a union. When I was professing for a living we had a union. About 15% of the professors belonged to the union. The union negotiated contracts with the University on behalf of all the faculty. But becuase only a small minority of people payed dues the University allways "won" when negotiating. Then people would complain about the union "not working". I would tell them then join the union and reap the benefits. People like you and me (and others) pay so other can ride for free. It is the American way. If people would pay 5 dollars a month (less then the cost of a McDonald's lunch) then Tim could upgrade. Exactly. And it's worse that the person who posted that doesn't pay for the service anyway. He's visting this wonderful site for free and still complaining. Tim has a wonderful service here and we should do everything possible to keep NSBB around. He's not doing this to make money. It's $5 dollars a month people.

    She said something about how the pressure was on Dusty this year and that he can't be the player's manager or baby sitter this year. He has to manage this team to the playoffs. Pretty good stuff. They guys gave the same expression that Mike Myers gave after Kanye West dropped the bomb. :lol:

    It leaves the Astros with an extra 15 million to spend. I imagine they'll look for a bat and a second tier starter. They do have the dough now to take on Abreu's contract. But is Qualls and Backe enough to get it done? And if they do get Abreu for Qualls and Backe, what does their rotation look like?
