  1. It's not a big deal because he's playing for the Cardinals. If I were a Cardinal fan I'd be up in arms at this signing, but since I'm not I'm a happy camper. I think Looper is going to bomb in St. Louis.
  2. replace the atlanta.braves with stlouis.cardinals, and you get the same page. I think you could substitute any mlb team and get the same page. How he got the Atlanta link I don't know. I'm guessing it was accessed from a link at the bottom of the Braves mlb page. I got the link off of Google News. I don't know why it came from the Braves site.
  3. That pretty much says it. Maybe he was injured or something... From the link above:
  4. Looks like the Dodgers are at it again. If they sign him, their payroll is going to be about eleventy billion this year. Which is a complete 180 from what the LA Times wrote a month ago. They wrote the Dodgers were cutting payroll to around $85 million. Guess that isn't the case.
  5. Rotoworld: Looks like the Dodgers are at it again.
  6. Wasn't there an article a while back saying that Epstein had interest in coming to the Northside? I think I remember reading that a while ago. I'd love to have Epstein as GM of the Cubs.
  7. Isn't Garland going to be a FA next year though? Would the Orioles want to trade for him not knowing whether he's going to be around for a while?
  8. Link I guess that would take us out of the bidding.
  9. This joke was done yesterday. Not only is it a bad joke, but you're a day late at that.
  10. Tejada (or Arod) better be at SS if we're going to have to watch a platoon of Patterson/Hidalgo in RF.
  11. I hope he goes to Cleveland. I have a bad feeling that he's going to go to the Astros and tear up Cubs pitching next year. :x
  12. Nomar near decision among four teams Here's to hoping he doesn't go to the Astros.
  13. Levine said the White Sox are thinking of trading one of their starters (McCarthy, Garland), Uribe, and minor leaguers to the Orioles for Tejada. If they get Tejada...I don't even want to think about it.
  14. Better than giving up Z or Prior. I'd be willing to give up those guys if it netted us Tejada.
  15. Sounds like the Rangers pricetag on Wilkerson and Mench is pretty steep. Rotoworld:
  16. From everything we've read and heard this offseason Walker won't be back. I don't understand it personally, but it looks like Hendry has made a decision. That said, I wouldn't my seeing Hudson at 2nd base. We'd need more offense at SS and RF though if Hendry did trade for Hudson.
  17. Rotoworld: Now they just need Tejada to play 2b and they're all set.
  18. 1. Wilkerson 2. Huff 3. Bradley 4. Mench 5. Kearns I'd put Floyd on there, but I highly doubt the Mets trade him.
  19. Care to elaborate? His contract is terrible. And?? Even if Lee regresses to career norms next season, his contract will probably look quite similar. Sure, we age 2 years at one position (but likely get much better numbers for a couple of years), but we also get a good young outfielder as well. Helton's contract is $16.6 million for 2006-2010. It goes up to $19.10 million for 2011. So basically we would be taking on a 6-year contract worth over $102 million for a player who would be 38 at the end of the contract. No thank you.
  20. Care to elaborate? His contract is terrible.
