    The "always reliable" Steve Phillips mentioned a Tejada to the Angels trade rumor. Tejada for Cabrera, Erstad, and prospects. Didn't mentioned any names of the prospects.

    Adam Greenberg was on his way to becoming one of the game's best fourth outfielders? The fact that not a single team claimed him a few weeks ago strongly suggests otherwise and is telling of how much we (Cubs fans) overvalue our own guys at times. Yep. You've done a nice job in this thread. it really bugs me when people compliment each other for arguing the right points or whatever it is that is happening here. You're right on point with this statement. Good job Tree.

    More "insider" information from the guys over at Orioles Hangout. It's a good read. http://www.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28825 They say the Manny/Clement for Tejada trade has been agreed upon by both teams, but Manny is looking for a contract extension before he waives his NTC. I don't know how these guys get their information, but it seems like most of the people on the site believe the couple of guys on the site who say they have sources.

    There was an article in a denver newspaper saying Grissom might sign with the Cubs. The other 9 and a half pages is arguing. Wow a Five Time all-star~!! Yes, I spend entirely too much time on NSBB. Thanks for pointing that out. :wink:

    I love that there's 8 pages of arguing and Grissom hasn't even signed (yet). We Cub fans need some good news for once. Hopefully that will come sometime this offseason.

    Good point. Look at these 2nd half numbers too: July: .330 .377 .557 August: .277 .314 .411 September: .265 .317 .368 What a dropoff. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, there have been steroid allegations as well----from none other than Raffy himself. Canseco has said he's suspicious of Tejada.... Plus he's a malcontent. That's enough for me. Stay away. He's a good shorstop, but I just think we can trade for some LF who's going to put up similar to better numbers than Tejada (think Luis Gonzalez) and it would cost us much less trade-wise. There's no way we should be giving up Prior in any deal. Move on Jim Hendry. Move on.

    First thought: Just keep on talking Miguel. You're trade value is going down more and more everytime you openly complain. Second thought: Crap. Here we go again. Next we'll see in the Trib that Prior for Tejada is on the table again. [-X

    Except Perez for Walker and either him or Jones hitting in the two hole. Thats more likely. And what about Gonzo requiring an extension to 2007 in order to waive his no trade rights? Meh. Hendry needs to think even more creative. And there's no way Weaver is going to take a 1-year deal when he's going to get at least 3 years from some other team. Depends on how confident he is in himself. Milwood benefitted greatly from his 1-year deal. He is also a Boras client. Weaver will have the option of a muti-year deal; but if he can put it together next season, he can get a monster deal next winter. Pitchers are getting monster deals this year. Why take a chance on injury or having a bad season and wait another year if you can get your deal this year? And Boras is his client. He's getting 3 years minimum.

    This is good news. I worry that this is a ploy to get Hendry to up his offer. Hopefully, Hendry moves on. Doubt he does, but let's all hope.
