    You have to figure that Pierre is going to luck into an RBI at some point.

    Would have liked to see the Cubs go after Bradley and Castillo, but I don't think Giles wanted to leave the west coast and Nomar isn't a SS anymore.

    Anyone else getting really tired of all the double switches? It's amazing the amount of stupid double switches that this man performs. Drives me nuts.

    If they can't play a position, they shouldn't be in baseball. I hate the DH. There's no strategy in it whatsoever. I would also like to do away with interleague play. Dumbest idea ever.

    Well, hopefully this trade deadline will be similar to this offseason and teams buying will have to overpay for players. Hopefully we can make a killing by selling.

    Hopefully that means that the rumors of him already having a deal are not true. No, it probably just means he won't be announcing it right now, because the Cubs didn't win 3 games in a row. As soon as they do (and they will, sometime), he will be officially extended. Extending Dusty with the team 15 games under 500 would be flat out embarrassing. Extending Dusty after 3 years of crap would be embarrassing enough.

    Anyone have an idea who the "different player" might be? No indication of who the Cubs might be seeking. The Dodgers do have a deep farm system fwiw. In the rest of the article they talk about the Dodgers being interested in Hairston because they were looking for a utility player that could play both the infield and outfield.

    The Cubs saw a total of 104 pitches tonight. Great job guys. Keep up that aggressive nature.
