  1. Neifi. He adjusted himself a little too roughly in-between pitches.
  2. Guzman getting loose in the pen. Marshall can't find the strikezone tonight.
  3. Anyone else hoping the cell phones don't work tonight? Stupid marketing campaign by the Cubs.
  4. It's right. Neifi must have had a sac fly. Sac fly's count against your OBP, but not against your BA.
  5. Just the Cubs trying to make more money by having Motorola pay them to use the phones. I'm sure there will be a "Motorola Call to the Pen" from now on.
  6. I wouldn't argue the point with you, as stated, but at the same time, I defy you to name somebody on our roster that hits right handed and has outproduced Neifi hitting in the second slot. Now, that's pathetic, no? Murton has a .333 OBP in the 2-hole.
  7. Hendry is just waiting until Pagan the savior is back.
  8. He's obviously doing it for shock value or something. No one is that dumb Well.... I'm shocked. batting 2nd AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Perez 23 4 7 1 0 0 8 2 0 1 0.304 0.292 0.348 0.639 Cedeno 92 5 23 1 2 1 31 5 2 19 0.250 0.266 0.337 0.603 Seriously, only Neifi could have an OBP lower than his BA. Exactly what you want out of the 2nd spot in the lineup.
  9. He's obviously doing it for shock value or something. No one is that dumb Meh, just means we'll be getting a higher draft pick next year. Fine by me.
  10. Big Z
  11. We should be selling this summer, not buying. Mench isn't the answer. We should be trying to get whatever we can in terms of prospects for Maddux, Walker, Williamson, Rusch, Neifi, Wood, etc.
  12. What did the dude say?
  13. He's got plenty of time to get back healthy. Spring training 2007 isn't for quite a while.
  14. Top 5 teams in OBP: 1. NY Yankees 2. Boston 3. Toronto 4. LA Dodgers 5. Cleveland Top 5 teams in Runs Scored: 1. Cleveland 2. NY Yankees 3. Toronto 4. LA Dodgers 5. Texas Boston comes in at #9 in runs scored. Bottom 5 in OBP: 26. San Diego 27. LA Angels 28. Kansas City 29. Cubs 30. Tampa Bay Bottom 5 in Runs: 26. Tampa Bay 27. San Diego 28. Colorado 29. Cubs 30. Kansas City It really is no surprise that teams who get on base more score more runs. It still amazes me that Hendry and Company are still more worried about getting toolsy players instead of players who get on base. It's such a simple concept to understand, yet the Cubs are clueless.
  15. Here are some eye-popping numbers to the suckage of the Cubs this year.
  16. Check the minor league forum. He's already on his way up to AA!!! :D
  17. Awesome!!! We knew it was coming soon. Good for Sean. Hope he continues his success at the next level.
  18. He's been blessed by deity. Someone needs to photoshop a picture of Dunn looking down, shining brightly on Marmol from Heaven.
  19. I could see the Cubs sticking with 2 of either Marshall, Marmol, or Guzman (depending how they do the rest of the year). The one who loses out, plus Hill, will be trade bait. I think the Wood is probably gone unless he signs to be our closer. I see Hendry going out and either trading for or signing a FA pitcher this offseason. Someone like Zito or Schmidt. 2007 Rotation: Z #2 type pitcher through FA or trade (Zito maybe) Prior Marshall/Marmol/Guzman Marshall/Marmol/Guzman I don't know what to think of Miller until he comes back and pitches this year (if he pitches this year). He could take a spot in the rotation next year, but I doubt it at this point. Oh, and bring back Maddux as pitching coach after he retires this year. He has to realize it's about time to hang 'em up, right?
  20. In before the Lock The Cubs are skipping Glendon's turn in the rotation with the off day today. Maddux is pitching Wednesday.
  21. Even if Dunn were available, do people really think that this Cubs' organization, with the way it's run right now, would have any interest in trading for Dunn? More likely the Cubs would dish out a bunch of prospects for Carlos Lee. Much more the Cubs' style. :x
  22. 3 goals in the last 10 minutes of the game for Australia. Crazy.
  23. Wow. Australia with a crazy comeback.
  24. Looks like the Cubs are skipping Rusch's turn in the rotation with the off day today.
