  1. Haha. Perez right back in the 2-hole. Dusty is insane.
  2. He could be 10 for his last 10 and any trade that gets Tony Womack less playing time is still a good one. ...because Womack has been horrible with the Cubs so far. Because Womack is a good player over his career? He has Neifi written all over him. A couple more good games for Womack and Hendry will be hailing how he saved the Cubs this year while he gives him a 2-year, $5 million extension.
  3. You forgot to add over-paid to that first part. Typical Cubs' move. They have no clue. Probably gave up something good to get him too.
  4. Stoney is doing the ESPN feed.
  5. Ha. Glad I'm not the only one who has no idea what's going on in this thread. :D
  6. Murton in the 3-hole and Cedeno batting 6th ahead of Jones. Interesting.
  7. Actually, the big rumor is that Hendry has already given extensions to the coaching staff, but has been waiting for a winning streak to announce it. Entire coaching staff or just Dusty? Either way it's a complete joke if true.
  8. The whole Clemens story is getting really old. Hope he pulls a Sammy this year by sucking badly and then quietly exiting the game forever.
  9. wow, they should release him! Absolutely. At 21, he's way too old for AAA. He should be a 4-time All-Star at this point.
  10. Yep. The Cubs are just waiting for him to get his avg. about the mendoza line before they give him the big jump from Daytona to the Majors. What's not to like about a .170/.233/.296 line? The Cubs are so good at drafting position players. :x
  11. Speaking of Milledge, looks like the Mets called him up today with Nady going on the DL. It's on Rotoworld. Guess we'll get to see what this kid is all about for the next 3 weeks.

    Soto

With Dusty managing what are the odds of that happening? Slim to none, but I'd still like to see it. I'm guessing Soto will get about 4 at-bats while he's up when Barrett serves his suspension. We all know Dusty is going to give all the at-bats to the veteran Blanco. Soto might get a start if there's a day game after a night game. That's pretty much his only chance.
  13. Because Dusty loves giving away outs. Ok is there something wrong with moving a runner over to third base with no outs? It gave the cubs a run. Who knows if baker allowed hairston to swing away and he pops up in the infield then you have 1 out and pierre stuck on 2b still. Walker then grounds out 4-3 now you have 2 outs with pierre on third. Then Barrett flys out so now the score is 0-0 instead of 1-0. That is why Baker had Hairston bunting Yep. Bunting people over has worked well for us this year. How many runs have we scored again? How many sac bunts have there been this year? Ok how many clutch hits has Hairston had this year? NONE. Im not sure what is wrong with playing with a early lead. I guess you guys just want to the cubs to fail Ummmmm... what? Yeah everytime im on NSBB i hear someone say i hope we lose. What is that about??? ANd know im hearing how bad of a play it was for Hairston to bunt that does not make any sense. So you expect us to win by trying for one run instead of trying for a big inning with our pitching being abysmal? It's pretty obvious that small ball isn't working too well for us this year. Maybe we should try something else, no? It dosent work because the Cubs can never get on base to use small ball. Okay. So, if they can't get on base, why should they be wasting outs? If it doesn't work, shouldn't they try something else, like not wasting outs?

ANd know im hearing how bad of a play it was for Hairston to bunt that does not make any sense. It's called sarcasm. Your one of them who says "I hope we lose" can you tell me why you say that, and in my opinion i dont think it is sarcasm i really think you do want them to lose so they can fire Baker. Is it wrong for people to hope for change in management? It's pretty obvious that this management isn't getting it done. I root for the Cubs everyday, but if losing games gets a positive change made, then I'm all for it.

I guess you guys just want to the cubs to fail If the only way Hairston can be effective is by sac bunting, should he be playing? Should he be on the roster? Probably not. I'm still trying to figure out why Theriot was brought up and wasn't given a chance. It's not like he could do worse than Neifi or Hairston. I'm just saying it's stupid to give away outs when we've got the worst BA and OBP in the majors.

  18. That might work for the White Sox, but the Cubs need as many outs as they can get. They shouldn't be giving outs away. If you haven't noticed we lead the world in worst BA, OBP, etc. Outs are very precious for us, yet Dusty gives them away like they're nothing.
  19. The best part about it all... Neifi is signed for 2 years and $5 million. Wonderful signing Jim. Good work.
  20. Probably not with the lefty on the mound. But who know's with Baker filling out the lineup cards.
  21. I think we all should drink a shot everytime Neifi grabs his crotch while he's batting. That way we'll be hammered after his first at-bat and we won't care about the rest of the game.
