    So winning a World Series in 2002 and 2006 isn't good enough? :twisted: Why not just sign Craig Counsell? He was on the 97 and 01 WS champs teams. Maybe Counsell will be "Hendry's Top Target." Shut.Up. I think Counsell can play 3B. We don't need to be giving anyone any ideas. #-o Counsell for 3b, Izturis for SS, and Theriot for 2b... We'd be well on our way to a 2007 World Series.

    Sean Casey, Carlos Guillen, and Kenny Rogers are the only Tigers who decided to show up for the World Series.

    My hatred for the Cardinals is at an all-time high. Jeff Weaver pitches like Cy Young all postseason. Molina hits like Babe Ruth. The Tigers basically give the Cardinals the Series with all the ridiculous errors. Everything went right for the Cardinals. Ugh.

    It's bad business though. The Red Sox would have a really hard time getting Japanese players in the future if they pulled such a move. Japanese teams probably wouldn't accept their bids in the future.

    This was brought up on another message board, and I think it brings up an interesting question. Dombrowski's contract with the Tigers is up after this season. He's a Chicago native. Would it make sense that the Cubs still have the "interim" tag on McDonough because they're waiting until after the World Series to see if Dombrowski would have interest in coming to the North Side to be President/GM of the Cubs? It might also explain why Hendry somehow got to keep his job while MacPhail was forced out and Dusty was fired. If the Tigers win the World Series, would Dombrowski have interest in the Cubs job, seeing it as a challenge?

    When are we allowed to want to move on from depending on him? After 3 dissapointing seasons? 4? 3 should be good. So after this year he's fair game. I think we're already past the point of depending on him. Hendry better being going into next season with the idea that Prior is a #5 pitcher at best and that whatever he gives us next year is a bonus, or we're going to have the same problems we had this year.
