  1. I was just about to post the same thing. Why have a bunch of empty channels??? So they can play the same stupid thing on all 8 open channels. It really drives me insane. I don't understand it at all.
  2. And the Mets/Nationals game goes into extra innings. I hate XM radio. :x
  3. It must be a delayed broadcast or something. XM176 is the Mets and Nats right now, and it's only in the bottom of the 5th. Yeah, I guess so. Stupid XM. The schedule says that it's supposed to broadcast the Cubs' game at 3:05ET, so I don't know what's up. XM leaves a lot to be desired. I know it's only spring training, but still.
  4. What's wrong with Izturis? He was promoted through the minors b/c of his defense and his bat is still catching up. His hitting has improved, especially his plate discipline. Izturis has speed and plays ridiculously well at SS. He's not Tejada at the plate, no question, but he can be very useful. What's our other option? Ronny Cedeno? lol He's got a career .295 OBP. Not really setting the world on fire.
  5. Thank god. Now if we can just work on getting him out of the lineup completely...
  6. I agree. I actually really like the coaching staff. I think it's going to be a wonderful change from Dusty and his minions.
  7. This is also on XM radio 176 according to the schedule for those who have XM radio.
  8. I think we should be calling Smardz "chainsaw" or something. He's been breaking bats at a astounding rate so far this spring.
  9. Theriot at SS!! Awesome. Hopefully he can show he can play there.
  10. Bruce said there is no gun up on the board at the stadium-I'm sure there are some guns actually there, and the question is if Sullivan could get access to interview one of those people during the game. Or just has to be sitting near someone with a gun.
  11. I'm not so sure about that. Right now, for the foreseeable future, he's in the bullpen. But in a couple of years, or even next year, I could see him starting again. Heh, guess I should've read EJ's post. Geez. Am I freakin' invisible here?
  12. I could see him coming back into the rotation in a couple years time, maybe even next year, but he's definitely going to be in the bullpen this year. I am excited about maybe seeing him in the closer's roll this year though, if he can stay healthy. It would be great having a dominant closer.
  13. It's called PASSION! No it's called overreacting/total lack of baseball perspective. It's spring training, and means little. Particularly, for a pitcher injured for the majority of 2 years. As long as has normal soreness, and isn't hurt, today was a good day. If he's throwing 85 at the end of ST, then worry. It's part of the fan base. Go to Boston and NY message board and you'll get the same thing...Cubs fans are passionate. Passion is fine. Thinking the man is done pitching after 40 pitches in his first ST game in 2 years after 2 years of being away with injuries, is a little different than passion. I love this team with tons of passion. I'm just not going to meltdown due to one bad outing by Prior. Let's see how he progresses through ST. You can't tell me you're not a little worried about the fact that he was only throwing 83-85.
  14. Murt wth a deep sac fly. Pie scores. Cubs winning 5-4.
  15. Pie with another hard hit ball. RBI single to tie the game. He's having a good game.
  16. Nice 1-2-3 for Kerry. Even the announcers were impressed. He must have looked good.
  17. Nice K for Woody. Good start. Sounds like he's throwing well.
  18. He also lacked velocity. Was only throwing 83-85.
  19. 95 MPH first pitch for Woody. Nice.
  20. Good outing for Lilly. Only gave up the bunt single.
  21. Pie with a couple solid singles so far.
  22. I guess the announcers were right about Prior's velocity. :x Or Sullivan could have just been using them as a source. I doubt that it is uncommon. I'm sure he's sitting in the stands somewhere. I really doubt he's listening to the radio broadcast. Maybe Bruce can chime in soon.
