    Rich Rod fired all the Michigan assistant coaches today. Looks like it's a complete house cleaning in Ann Arbor. Hope we don't lose McGuffie because of this.

    I just don't see Prior going to the Astros. He's going to be pitching for a year contract, maybe two, hoping he can pitch well enough to get a multi-year contract. I don't see him wanting to pitch half his games in that box they call a stadium.

    The thought of Pryor and Sam McGuffie in the backfield for Michigan makes my head spin. Hopefully McGuffie doesn't change his mind because of the coaching change, and Pryor does in fact decide to come to Michigan.

    as an alumnus, i'm totally excited with this seemingly last-minute turn-of-events. all the rumors about brady hoke made me want to burn my diploma. the fact that he's bringing gibson (db coach) and magee (oc) might mean debord's gone. excellent. DeBord was on his way out anyway. Run left hasn't worked for years. I'm also excited about Rich Rod bringing our strength and conditioning program into the 21st century as well. I do hope they keep Ron English on as DC.

    I have to say, I'm on top of the world right now. I never thought we'd have a chance to get Rich Rodriguez. It was a long and horrible process, but it sure turned out good in the end. :D

    Yep. Read about that earlier. There's also a couple of insiders on the WV scout board who are saying R Rodriguez is going to stay at WV. Looks like Michigan has been turned down again. The embarrassment grows. :evil:

    Haha. Howard is on the search committe, doesnt sound like his voice was heard to clearly. IF RR comes it will be interesting to see what he does with the offense talent at UM. Mallett isnt exactly Pat White. If RR keeps the spread shotgun offense but has the QB passes more than at WV it should be a fine transition. RR used to have a very pass-happy spread offense when he worked at Tulane. He adjusted it to the run-happy offense at WV because he didn't have a guy who could pass. I can only imagine how good a spread offense would be with Mallett and the new guy McGuffie coming in.

    I'd love to have Rodriguez, but I feel like we're in for another embarrassment when he turns us down. I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan up the ante quite a bit this time to avoid that. He's a WV grad so it's going to take a lot of money for him to leave. I'm surprised you didn't mention something about going after another Big East coach. :D It is where most of the best coaches reside! Rodriguez has a $4 million dollar buyout. I don't see Michigan paying WVU $4 million.
