  1. Maybe he does actually care about 3K
  2. Does the ump have a big zone today? I'm listening to WGN while watching Gameday online and it seems like he's giving pitchers borderline strikes. It is hot and humid today, making it more likely that blue has a big zone.
  3. looks like HR derby just started
  4. 5 to go for Mad Dog And my 500th post. :)
  5. I don't know why the Reds don't have LaRue in against us as he always seems to be the classic cub killer... oh well, not complaining.
  6. He has been doing well lately. Florida would probably ask too much for him.
  7. This is silly... over the past month Dempster has pitched 11.2 innings giving up 0 earned runs. And has converted 13 saves in a row. I think we can get somebody to really improve on those numbers.
  8. 50% Nomar is 100% better than a healthy Perez. Neifi is not good and his good start is turning into a negative for this team because people think he can do it again and his season stats are skewed from it as well.
  9. Who would want Neifi?? If we can find ANYONE to give ANYTHING for Neifi I'd be shocked. So I doubt he is hearing trade rumors that are causing his play. I think the cause of his poor play is that he has reverted to form (like others have said) and that form stinks.
  10. I think their CHEMISTRY was thrown off by their recent additions. :ducks and hides: Well thats what my dad said... those silly cardinal fans and their "chemistry." Nick Johnson on the DL sure isn't helping either though, he was hot before getting hurt.
  11. What are the chances of this one actually being played with the current weather heading to Cincy?
  12. He's now on the DL, so this is even less likely
  13. '03 was Bernie Mac's fault. Amen... screw Bernie Mac... I don't watch his stuff now. Wait, no I never did he sucks.
  14. How about Morgan's exchange with Reggie Jackson? When talking about the 71 ASG and Reggie winning it, Joe buts in and says yea but I wasn't at that one. Unbelievable. Joe Morgan is the greatest, just ask him.
  15. Agreed. Well here's to hoping he doesn't play them for the rest of the month.
  16. Why help Dusty? The only helping I would provide to Dusty at this point is calling the moving van to get him the * out of town.
  17. DO SOMETHING JIM!!!!!!!!!!!! This is grotesque.
  18. Just please don't let the 94 year old beat us this time.
  19. Lawton has a .271/.377/.825 line this year. How would that not be an upgrade? He's not Adam Dunn, but that .377 OBP would sure be nice. I guess I had a misperception about his stats both this year and career. He would be nice to have, but the way Hollandsworth is going, it'd be nicer to find a SS with those same numbers.
  20. In other words, the Cubs won't give them more than moderate prospects. Nor should they. Agreed. I still think the Cubs can do better than Preston Wilson. I am sure they can do better than Wilson as well, but I have the feeling that time is running out, and that Hnedry doesn't have the luxury of waiting until the last week of July to get something done. I think if Jim wants to salvage this season, he is going to have to overpay to expedite things. I wonder if Hendry is talking to the Pirates. "Pirates Working on Lawton Trade" http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05186/533011.stm How would Matt Lawton be an upgrade? Unless of course it means the end of the line for Macias.
  21. Ah... forgot to turn "Fair Trades" off on your MVP owner mode, eh?
  22. Does it tell you when you have reached the 25 max for that email address? Oh and I have been using Vance's method and making sure I check both more info boxes... that's what they get for spamming me. 8)
  23. That's near sighted analysis. If Dunn were to come over, Walker could move up to 2 because Aramis would then be protected by Burnitz and Barrett. It goes to what Tim was saying in the Game Threads yesterday about improving quality up and down the lineup and the 1-2 hitters naturally getting better. But with that being said, I am in the "I'll Believe It When I See It" Camp when it comes to getting Dunn.
