I'm not disagreeing with you, but if you pitchout 1-1, it almost guarantees the squeeze at 2-1 unless you are trying to walk him. Actually that would not have been a bad move, to walk him. He meant nothing as a runner, and would have set up a double play. That's true, but that also brings you one step closer to Pujols and Edmonds without getting an out. It's basically putting all your eggs in one basket that you get the DP ball. The odds that Pujols(Or Edmonds if you walk Pujols) beats you with 2 outs is higher than Eckstein beating you with 1 IMO. I almost forgot, Welcome to the Forum!! The guy who would have came up was a 93 year old Rookie. And Edmonds and Pujols didnt' look great that whole night. What really would have been putting all of your eggs in one basket is not pitching out there, because you are allowing the attempted suicide squeeze and if you don't stop it, its over.
