  1. What kind/brand of cereal has been hauled in the previous three games, and what are you hauling today? We need specifics in order to determine the relevancy of these statistics.
  2. Just posted this in the game thread, but Cubs.com has now posted the Kerry Wood activation official press release.
  3. Cubs.com posted the Kerry Wood activation official press release. There's really no reason for me to be this ridiculously excited, but I am.
  4. I heard he is supposed to today on Sportsday on CSN. But no definitive proof yet. Rotoworld has it: It's official. Wood activated, Cherry to AAA and Guzman to the 60-day DL. Welcome back, KW 8-)
  5. Any news about whether or not Wood actually gets activated today?
  6. Does this bet hold true for his board also? I think it should, Im sure the Card fans there would just love that  That's exactly what it is. If I win, he has a Cubs avatar at GRB. If I lose, I have a Cards avatar here. There should also be a stipulation mandating a minimum number of posts per day for the week which you're sporting the avatar.
  7. Those are some ridiculous numbers. The only surprise is that the K:BB ratio is closer to 2:1 than it is to 15:1.
  8. I know I'm a couple days late to this party, but are you seriously arguing that the Cubs are better off with Theriot hitting singles and stealing bases than they would be with somebody else hitting doubles, triples and home runs but not stealing bases? If someone hits for power but doesn't steal bases, then opposing pitchers will pitch around said hitter and just walk him all the time and clog up the bases for the guys who can run. I don't know about you but the last thing I want is clogged bases. List of things I want: 1.) Cubs WS victory 2.) Lifetime of independent wealth 32462353562.) Clogged bases 32462353563.) The Clap

  10. Did you set the game to only last 5 innings?
  11. I like it. If the Cubs win, I'm crediting this. EDIT - I guess I can credit good baseball to the players whom credit is due too.
  12. I agree about the bullpen. Lou (and Marshall :x) asked quite a bit of them today, and they came through pretty well until the ninth, though it's not like that ninth inning lineup was going to do anything anyway. Given the circumstances, they did fine. Even Eyre showed up bigtime today.
  13. 1. Z 2. Marqueef 3. Cedeno 4. Kendall We seriously need Z and Marquis to PH today.
  14. 1. Z 2. Marqueef 3. Cedeno 4. Kendall We seriously need Z and Marquis to win today.
  15. With the Cubs trying to mount a rally, Derrek Lee's late inning efforts are the last thing we needed from our 3 hitter.
  16. Wind blowing out, Flash Gordon pitching, Alf warming up. If the Cubs don't score... my face could explode.
  17. Why is that post called for? He's not calling out anyone in particular, just pointing out the lack of discretion in off-the-cuff comments that have no statistical backing. The general absence of such comments it supposed to be the big draw to reading and posting here.
  18. has he really hit one before? I heard a rumor that he use to. I try to block out everything from 2006, so as far as I know JJ has only hit two homers as a Cub. I've blocked all of 06 except the game where Barrett had a GS against StL, so in my book, Jacque has three has a Cub.
  19. Warning track power has been reduced to warning track power on a blistering hot day with the wind blowing out. Still, nice hit Font. Let's get these two home, Kojock!!
  20. I have a feeling that if Marshall can somehow manage to turn in a Rich Hill-like 4-inning performance with only 4 or 5 runs allowed, the Cubs will win today. It's gonna take 8 runs to win this one, even with the Cubs' power.
  21. Yet somehow, for the Cubs, it will still manage to be a "marvel at the warning track power" days.
