  1. It's amazing that no one was able to see the Ron Zook era playing out like this. Wait...
  2. WTF Jimmy?
  3. Give them 1 more second.
  4. At least review it to give them time.
  5. To be fair, they screwed up their share of opportunities. But yeah, the TD drive in the 4th quarter saw some really questionable officiating. I wasn't home yet, what calls did they miss? Two missed FGs and some incomplete passes involving wide open players in the end zone. I saw the missed FG's, I mean the calls by the officials.

  7. Well they never EVER call PI on a hail mary, but I agree. At least you get a chance at a tipped ball in the end zone instead of 18 laterals from 50 yards away.
  8. I wonder if Tebow will run up the middle...
  9. Jesus Christ you knew Tebow would just be running it before the kicked the FG
  10. A pick-6 would be so holy right now in so many ways....
  11. If this happens it may be the most important game in Iowa sports history. I don't think Iowa gets to the National Championship even if they go 12-0. And even if they get to that point I don't know if they're one of the two best. On the other hand I don't think anyone is that good this year and on the right day we could probably beat anyone. At this point I want the Rose Bowl at least. Effing Arkansas...
  12. We played pretty well without those guys. Bob seems like a good dude but come on. He either went with that based off what some clown on a free board said or what some friend told him after he read it on a free board. There were a few guys sick early in the week, everyone practiced Thursday. Stanzi was never sick.
  13. I really thought Iowa was going to lose today. After it was 10-0 and neither of our lines had an answer for them, I was convinced. Stanzi played the best game of his career today and our defense was lights out the last 2.5 quarters. Just don't lose next week or get upset at home. I want to be 10-0 going to Columbus.
  14. I just wish Stanzi, Moeaki, Stross and Spievey could have played today. You heard it here first...
  15. unfortunately they have three more freebies on the schedule (home games against indiana, northwestern and minnesota) and should beat michigan st in e. lansing, so probably their only chance of losing will be at ohio st. Im more worried about MSU than Ohio St. If Ricky ever figures out how to start a game properly, we'll be a complete team. At least no pick 6's today. He started plenty fine today. Just like he did against Arkansas State. And Penn State, only his receivers kept dropping the ball.
  16. You heard it here first. They'll make the official announcement tomorrow, but it appears unlikely they'll play. Are you sticking to your guns Bob?
  17. You heard it here first. They'll make the official announcement tomorrow, but it appears unlikely they'll play. Don't believe everything you read on free message boards. Or rumors that get started there and passed down. They've had guys dealing with the flu during the week all year. From everything I've heard this week is no different in severity or the number affected. Besides most of what's going around right now is a short-term deal. They wouldn't be ruled out that far ahead of time and I'm not sure why they would send out an announcement to let everyone know they'll be without multiple starters.
  18. Almost no chance. The Vikings WR coach was one of his coaches in San Francisco and has a good relationship with him. But Childress and he had major blowups in Philly. His job is on the line this year and they think they have a Super Bowl type team. I can't possibly imagine them taking that risk for what Owens is now. They have Berrian on the one side finally getting healthy. Favre and Sidney Rice have really worked well and he's a 23 year old, 2nd round pick. They're absolutely in love with Harvin in the slot. And their only punt returners are the 4th/5th WR.
  19. The Vikings will also play the Steelers with Polamalu and unless something else happens, the Seahawks with Hasselbeck. Every team gets some breaks and for the most part divisional schedules are as equal as they can be. Not to mention the Bears lucked out against Pittsburgh without Polamalu and the Seahawks without Hasselbeck and Lofa. And we were missing Urlacher, Tinoisamoa, and Clark for both of those games. You have to look at both sides of the coin. You can't just say we lucked out due to key injuries on the opposing team when we ourselves had key injuries. In the case of Hasselbeck's injury, its not like he was replaced by some nobody. Seneca Wallace is a pretty good QB. The discussion was about schedules and how one team was lucky to play weaker squads. So yes you can just look at it like that. Urlacher is out for the year, are you going to use that every game for 16 weeks? And Seneca is not a pretty good QB. He's a serviceable backup.
  20. Yeah for real. NFL needs to do something so that the NFC North teams play basically the same teams. Fair point with you guys playing the Lions, but the schedule isn't exactly the same. We get Atlanta and Philly, while you get TB and Dallas. That definitely favors GB, imo. Meanwhile the Vikings get to have their last game of the year against a Giants team that will have probably locked up the division a month earlier, and Carolina. So I think they have it the best of all. But yeah...that's just the way it goes...and I'm not worried since the Packers suck. ;) The Vikings will also play the Steelers with Polamalu and unless something else happens, the Seahawks with Hasselbeck. Every team gets some breaks and for the most part divisional schedules are as equal as they can be.
  21. I don't remember what bowls get which Big Ten finisher, after the Rose Bowl, but PSU is going to have a tough time finishing higher than 3rd. I'd bet it comes down to Iowa/OSU with PSU 3rd. MSU 4th? Wisconsin? Hard to say. The Big Ten schools have played such crappy out of conference schedules that it's hard to know how good any of them are. wisconsin's schedule is pretty easy and they might only lose once more the rest of the way. i'm going to guess that osu only loses 1 game in conference and goes to the rose bowl, and iowa, penn state and wisconsin end up with 2 losses in conference, with everyone else losing 3 or more. i have no idea how the selections go at that point - my prediction is that wisconsin will have beaten iowa, iowa will have beaten penn st and penn st and wisconsin don't play each other. so i suppose it would be most fair that iowa and wisconsin get the new year's day bowls and penn st gets relegated to alamo or champs sports. according to their bowl projections, the alamo and champs sports bowls are both "big ten no. 4 or 5" so maybe they're interchangeable. The Alamo and Champs Sports rotate having the 4th pick. I believe this is the year the Champs has #4. The Big Ten actually ends its affiliation with both bowls this year. Starting next year it's: 1. Rose vs. BCS 2. Capital One vs. SEC 3. Outback vs. SEC 4/5. Gator vs. ACC 4/5. Insight vs. Big 12 6. Texas vs. Big 12 7. A new bowl in the old Cotton Bowl stadium vs. Big 12 or C-USA 8. Detroit bowl vs. MAC
  22. Best has been completely bottled up against the only two good defenses he's played against though. Total of 30 carries for 102 and 4 catches for 19 yards with 0 touchdowns against Oregon and USC.
  23. Down 35-10 and you go Prime Time on your own 26 yard line with a guy on your heels and another dude in front of you?
  24. Orton has actually been pretty solid and hasn't turned the ball over. He's been a little lucky of course, but to this point he's been a good fit because of their defense and the weapons he has.
