  1. Wlliamson,Eyre & Howry will change that TY. The BP will be the teams strength this year. Hopefully, the bullpen is a strength but if even one guy struggles then Novoa will be there to replace him. Novoa sucks. I wouldn't go that far. But if the Cubs were actually contemplating using Koronoka out of the bullpen when they break camp, Novoa definitely has a role in the organization.

  3. Not a bigger shocker with how much spring training he missed. While he's far from a great reliever, its nice to have another option for the bullpen in Iowa with the likely injury/ineffectiveness of the Cubs' pen.
  4. I wouldn't assume that. Dusty wasn't aware that Remlinger couldn't get LH hitters out, even though there was plenty of evidence. Jones is an everyday player in the Cubs mind, so no matter who is pitching, he's going to start the vast majority of games. I was thinking for along the lines of the offense, but you are definitely correct with his handling of the bullpen. Baker was constantly sitting Walker vs. LH's last year and would love to stack righties against LH's and vice versa.
  5. just an inflammatory article trying to ruffle some feathers.
  6. Does this mean Jacque Jones will play nearly everyday? I know Dusty loves to look at individual matchups but he has to be aware of how terrible Jones is against LH pitchers.

  8. Good point about the OF depth, I'm thinking of dropping Nick Johnson if the right FA is availalbe. Berkman is also listed as RF/LF, so he gives me more versatility that appears.
  9. You bring up a good point. I don't think Zambrano's lack of emotional control is a result of being of Latin descent, but probably does have something to do with being raised in Latin America. The environmental differences between there and the United States are great, and I think had Z grown up here as an American, would have much more control over his emotions, be more analytical on the mound, and possess much more poise and composure. Joe? Lol. FJM 4 lyfe, yo. I'm down yo.
  10. He was there yesterday so I assume so... Would somebody please put that man out his misery ??? If he's homeless, how does he get to Arizona? Somebody has to be aiding and abetting him. I'm pretty sure he's not homeless. I think he's a windowwasher or something. Also he's the man and super cool! I heard he travels from shelter to shelter but good for him that he's living on his own. If you've ever sat near him in the bleachers, you would not say he's the man nor is he super cool. I have sat by him before and I think the woo-ing is funny. Lately he's been traveling around the stadium and spreading the woo-ing around a bunch of sections. Maybe its funny the first time, but after hearing it for an entire game, I just want to smack the guy around.

  14. edit: wrong thread.

  16. That would be great! :D Thanks! I'll PM you to work out the details. When I post it. I haven't had much time lately. If you'd like to volunteer to help out with the scoring system, that would be great. :D I'd be happy to help out, let me know what to do. Thanks! What I could use some help with is setting up a spreadsheet for the scoring. I don't have excel on the home computer right now (though that will probably change in the next couple of weeks) and I'm changing jobs and won't have time to mess around with it at work. I'm not the most adept at Excel but I'd be happy to help out. Let me know what you'd like me to do.
  17. I wonder if this means Juan Cruz talks to the media too much.
  18. I don't know, giving Craig Wilson a chance to turn Jacque Jones into trade bait at the deadline would be pretty nice... After signing a 3 yr deal? I seriously DOUBT Jones will be traded in his first yr of the deal. Now maybe next offseason, perhaps....but not this season. There's no way Jones gets traded this season. Hendry would really have to swallow his pride to do that and admit it was a bad deal he gave to Jones. The more pressing issue is the outfield for 2007. There's a potential log jam, assuming Pie continues to progress the way he has. Pierre's extension talks probably won't go into the regular season, so he has 1 week and counting to get extended.
