taking a simpler approach...why do I have to pay for your health care? Apparently 1/3 of Americans get their health insurance via their jobs. Those who don't either get the medical bills and than declare bankruptcy (apparently upwards of 2/3 of all personal bankruptcy is medical bill related - I guess good credit is needed now?) or just simply are not insured and take the risks. It seems like the 1/3 of the people are being forced to pay for those who don't have it. I just wonder what other things we won't get to make our own life decisions for. What's next, a child limit? a Standardized test to tell you what to do with your life? For those who say it is a right to get medical coverage, that is incorrect. It is a privilege. This is why for many years, health insurance was termed as a "Fringe" benefit. What is a "right" is that if you have the means, you help others. However, it should be a "right" for people to choose what help to give. That is freedom...inherently a choice. Where are people's choices here?
