  1. I, and probably few else, wouldn't mind Sosa returning to Chicago in '06. Imagine that homecoming and then he wins all the fans back with a monster year. It would be a nice storybook end and be a great movie.
  2. If you go, let us know what movie. But I think you can wait until next week when the sappy romance movie of the year comes out. Reece Witherspoon in "Just like Heaven".
  3. Another Labor Day/B-Day Weekend sweep for me and the Cubs. Its nice to have this winning feelieng again to validate my belief in the team! Start Believing Again everyone!
  4. i guess man have stopped believing :( Thanks to Fred for his continued excellent work for guys like me who are at work and have to come in and out of the office
  5. It would have been nice to have Victor (Hometown Boy) Diaz for Burnitz.
  6. I may be wrong, but I don't think the word is considered to be cursing in that context; it's basically a synonym for awesome. Ok. As long as everyone is cool with it. I was just warning him just in case
  7. Yeah i hear age 29 is the best year. Most people stay this age as long as possible!
  8. Errr...the cursing in your sig AC will probably not be allowed.
  9. I do. I believe in the team. I believe that no matter what (at least to this point) I shall always be a Cub Fan and i will always believe in the team. Just think we are a game and a half out of 3rd place! (Sorry I just watched the movie Mr. 3000)
  10. I am beginning to think that Hendry gave up on the season when he dealt Hawkins. He got Lawton as a player that he was more interested (at the time) in keeping for 2006 then Gerut. Lawton didn't do well and Hendry was finally in a position where he could publicly admit that the season was done. Hendry knew that the season was over after trading Hawkins and calling up Muronn & Greenberg. Hendry knew that the coming season is a mkae or break time and wanted to use the remainder to help make decisions for it. He is a good GM with solid scouting skills. He can be creative with trades and is one to gamble at times. But he is smart on these gambles and can justify any and all of the acqusitions that he has made to the point where you can understand why he made them (except maybe Sisco but there is a point to be made for him as well). I like Hendry and I like his drive, motivation, attitude and track record. He is still the best GM we have had in my lifetime and will likely be the GM that takes this team to a more prominent position. For those that have concerns about him, who is a better candidate for the job? Questioning the leaders and the problems are a good thing, but having a solution to them when you address your concerns is important as well.
  11. Wow...another example of reality crashing all around us. Some things are more important. I am sure that Bobby is disappointed to miss the playoffs but still, I doubt that he is thinking baseball right now. Good Luck to him and his family.
  12. hey.... mhuber92211 still believes !! Yeppers, and always shall I :D
  13. So both starters are on a bit of a slide. I know which one I believe in though! WOO HOO! I get to start the Game Thread on my B-Day!
  14. So we have begun to believe again right? Now who says what we believe in? This is up for debate. Have at it. Early start for this game though!
  15. well I am off to work. Excellent job Chris. I forgot I wasn't listening to Pat & Ron and when they walked in the tieing run I was expect the "Gosh!" that we always hear from Ron for the Cubs.
  16. Navin is the guy in the headset for Chris :P
  17. another good one Jon. How you do this so well, I have no idea. Photoshopping is the new "Warhol Style" pop art for the 21st century
  18. well this is fun! Sorry I am late but I caught the end of the last inning with the Greenberg SB. Sounding good Chris! I gotta see the plaque for Ron.
  19. Of course. My Beliefs never wanes.
  20. This thread is for those who still wear their bracelets and still believe.
  21. How is Dempster's VORP negative? Kinda shows that this stat isn't all its cracked up to be, at least to me.
  22. Good to see Andy Pratt making a place for him to ponder his "control issues"
  23. I hope that JVB has the sucess that many here think he will. Unfortuantely, he is one pitcher that I cannot get behind. I watched him during spring training this season and he was pitiful. He relies on deception and movement and is similar to JoBo in that respect. I do hope that I am wrong but I won't join this bandwgn immediately. BTW, Wood doesn't have to go on the 60 day DL to open a spot. JVB takes Hollandworth's spot and Murton takes Wood's spot as Murton is already on the 40 man roster.
