  1. So with all these rookies lately, who carrys the kid's backpack?
  2. Anyone know anything on Nic Jackson's progress. He seems to be hitting fairly well. Hopefully this bodes well for him to move up the system and rebound. I always had a soft spot for the guy. Also, 4 HR for Harvey is a good sign this early.
  3. WTG DJaxx in getting the press releases on NSBB!
  4. Soapy, I aprreciate the apology and I certainly apologize for writing such a leading post. I am sure this won't be the last time 2 posters have a miscommunication. I hope that, in the future, we can all resolve it in similar friendly terms.
  5. Dude, get over yourself. Oh holy people who worship the Cubs regardless of what happens!! We loley trolls who sometimes questions moves by the Cubs or get upset when the best player on the team gets injured are so unworthy of your greatness. I bow down to thee. Just because people are having an emotional reaction to Lee's injury doesn't mean they "aren't going to be interested". And This is a perfect example of the labeling I'm talking about. I get called out by 2 Mods for calling people trolls when clearly I am talking about the interest level in the Cubs and the first response goes unnoticed. I take offense to the fact that the above post wasn't dealt with the same degree. I am not a "holy person who worships the Cubs" nor am I labeling any person upset at their misfortune. Rather then "getting over myself" why don't you ask my intentions rather then jumping to conclusions.
  6. Yeah, let's keep this thread non-personal, and not get the biggest news thread of the last couple years locked. Oh for the love of God. I never insinuated or called any of the gloomy people "trolls". I merely pointed out that the lack of sucess of the Cubs will lead to less trolls. I understand that people are upset and take it out on others, but why read into things that aren't there. If you have a question about what someone writes or their intention, ASK them before labeling what they say.
  7. Other: Giles & Prior
  8. So should the Cubs sweep this weekend how much will that change people's opinion?
  9. For all those people saying the season is over and tossing in the towel, they sure are coming up with a lot of solutions and a lot of posts. I guess NSBB won't be as busy in the coming weeks because so many people aren't goimg to be interested. Oh well, less trolls i guess.
  10. Adrian Gonzalez would have been nice.
  11. i was waiting for the 4-20 joke. Perhaps there is a reason that Dusty is a player's manager.
  12. Errr....how coicendental is this? On 4/20 last year Nomar got hurt. On basically the same game (since we have no game on the 20th) Lee (and Eyre) got hurt.
  13. i would be up for the buy/sell thread idea
  14. just as a FYI to those in the So Cal area, this game is on free TV, KCal 9
  15. Yes. Although entrances are slightly less secured but they won't let you near a section that isn't yours.
  16. Dunn can't be considered for being the bester hitter in baseball until he shys away from setting the single season strikeout record.
  17. good find Serena!
  18. 20K is pretty good to see too
  19. I was watching the game on Tivo after I knew about the injury. In the top of the inning (or maybe the inning before) Hariston, Lee and Pagan were going after a pop up and Pagan took a spill over Hairston as he dove. I think that afterwards Pagan was a bit gimpy and it got worse as he ran down the line.
  20. IIRC, Maddux went through the same theories back before the start of the 1998 season. Agai, I beleive he was coming off a season in which he only walked a handful of people and he made a comment to a reporter that he expects to walk more people this upcoming season because walks aren't necassarily the wrong decision. I remember this being a segment on BBTN and it left an impression on me as it was then I relized that Maddux was just as much of a contributor to the pitching sucess of the Braves as Mazzone was.
  21. It's a pretty safe guess, though. His pitch count should be high enough after two minor league rehab starts. If that's the case, he could be pitching on 4/25 and 4/30 with a return to the mound in San Diego on 5/5. I hope that is the case because in all likelihood I will be there for my first Petco experience!
  22. i feel your pain, i just had a dish installed today, tonights game will be only the second game ive been able to watch of the season. im very excited :jive: Gotta love the Dish! DVR is the best invention in the last 10 years!
  23. Ask if the bar has Fox Sports West. Its tpyically on all cable subscriptions. Dodger games are on Fox Sports Prime
  24. FYI, for those people in So Cal the game should be on Fox Sports Prime (Channel 411 for Dish Network people). And Raisin, I LOVE West Coast trips too! And I am thankful the rain came this weekend and not this early week!
  25. It is amazing how one's opinion can be made after 1 game of regular duty by a player.
