    Yep. I feel for that guy. I was so looking forward to the seahawks beating them again this season so the talking heads would stop thinking that Panthers are better the then Seahawks. I don't get how the addition of Keyshawn makes a bigger difference then the addition of Julien Peterson in Seattle.

    There is NO WAY that Stoneman trades any of his high profile prospects. Especially in a deal that nets him a player that it having a subpar season. Likely, Aram would net us McPherson, Aybar/Izturis and a low level pitching prospect. The only player I would think that Stoneman will trade is Kotchman. He would fit well in a package to Baltimore.

    Correct, Player cost is what I was referring to because "straight up" would mean that the Cubs take on the full salary. I am not at all comfortable getting into a bidding war over Carlos Lee. It would not suprise me to see him get 5 or even 6 years @ $14 mil per. That is not a contract that should be signed despite the glaring need. 2 years after it is signed it will look like one of th worst in baseball. FA signings for big money rarely work out to be worth it in the final years. It is much better to trade for a contract when the player has some value left and get a chunk of the money to be paid for by the trading team then to sign a bad contract. Would you rather be the team paying for a player to play elsewhere or be on the recieving end of that perk? Hill's value is at its peak right now. Philly despartely needs pitching. I could seriously see Burrell or Abreu go to LAA but that wouldn't solve their pitching woes. Gillick has to decide which is a bigger need.

    Talking about the hitters I think that Adjustments were a key disappointment. Many of them on the list seemingly got off to hot starts but weren't able to sustain them. I have to say though that seeing Nic Jackson come back and do well has been the feel good story for the entire year and for the entire organization. Hopefully he can build on this season, make an impression in the spring and get a chance to be a bench guy. Another guy that jumps out that I didn't really realize is Fontenot. I didn't realize his OBP is so ridiculouly high. Why he is not with the big club is strikingly odd. Can he fill in at 3rd still?

    Burell would be an excellent pick up and very cheap. Sonce Hill isn't going to get a fair shot (ala Cruz) why not do Burell for Hill straight up. I would think that the Phillies would listen to that.

    Ha, Ha Keyshawn a #2 that will actually make a difference. 50 Cyber Bucks says Nate Burleson has a better season and the Panthers miss the playoffs enitrely, thus proving without a doubt how [expletive] ESPN commentators are.

    so the ESPN people are stupid. They just said they don't get the Blazer's draft because the personell would have been @ 4. Did he not see that the Blazers got 2 lottery players for 2 bench players? And now they have "Spanish Chocolate" how can it get better then that? :)

    The Angels would be happy to give up on McPherson. He has worn out his welcome at the beginning of the year and is just starting to earn some of it back. I think that McPherson would be a throw in ala Murton in many a trade. The Angels need pen help as well as offense. I think that the need for starting pitching on this team is not as great as better hitters. I would imagine that some of our starters would intrigue some clubs (Maddux would fit well with the Angels/Padres) and I think that we could have some nice building trades pretty soon. I think that the Angels are NOT going to buyers but more likely to be sellers. It would not suprise me to see a Colon trade or a Garrett Anderson to the Yanks trade. I would imagine that the recent meetings between Owner/GM and manager were a discussion for how much do they want to fight this season and how much do they want to see the kids play.

    Tese are teh Cubs, there is no way that the Cubs go this young. I can see no reason why Maddux is not resigned to a 1 year deal in the offsesaon if he continues to perform like he has this season. If Maddux is playing next season, I want him to be a Cub. There should be no reason why we would want him out of this organization ever again. Don't forget that Rusch is back next year too. A rotation of: Z Prior Marshall Maddux Rusch Is a high probability
