  1. This is a crack up. The guy hasn't left yet and the reports of him leaving are just that he "tests the market" which is what he has already said he was doing by opting out. If people are getting drunk today I can only imagine what happens when he signs in Anaheim. Oh well, at least I get to see him hit behind Vlad for away.
  2. i think that they just bring Walker back. He was a good fit on the team here and worked well in Petco
  3. Check the thread, it's been asked several times recently. Gee Thanks. Not really interested in searching through 28 pages when it could have been answered in the same time you typed your response. Besides, my question was more general. Are all Bids for all posted players to be completed by Wednesday?
  4. Juan Pierre seems to not be thought of very highly on that list. #30 seems awfully low. Anyone else like Craig Wilson in our OF as a pltoon partner and a 1B backup for Lee to get some rest?
  5. what is the timeline for these postings? Is everyone on the same timeline? Is there a deadline? Thanks
  6. All of these are answers are YES. Baldelli will have another breakout year this season and actually will have some pub for something NOT realted to injury. Marshall Novoa and Holdskam does it I would imagine
  7. Wouldn't Moore be an option for some time at SS? They ahve been playing him there sporadically. That would surely increase his value as a UTL guy on the bench
  8. how is Zito better then Garcia. Zito is WAY overrated
  9. guess it proves numbers don't mean everything
  10. I think Suppan is likely a better use of $$
  11. I guess Hill doesn't qualify any longer.
  12. Like someone else pointed out it definitely was not the same player. E.J. Henderson is a 26 year old black outside linebacker for the Vikings. Kimo von Oelhoffen is a 35 year old Samon defensive tackle. It also clearly wasn't a dirty play. Watch the reply and you'll see Mack Strong blocked E.J. into Hasselbeck. He pushed him in the back as he was going down and he landed right into his knee. I guess that is what I get for listening to ESPN radio. Doesn't matter anyway, for the next 3 weeks at least the Seahawks offense is the 2nd half of a preseason game. I still have pretty solid faith that this offense is still better then most teams.
  13. I would do any of these deal except for the last one. You are giving up WAY too much for those 2 players.take away Pie or Marshall and its an acceptable deal
  14. UGH! So there are rumors that Hass is out for the season after the dirty play of rolling on his leg by the same guy who did it to Palmer! All I can say is Go SENECA WALLACE! I will laugh manically when the Seahawks make the playoffs with playing a large portion of their games without their best players. But at least their major FA signing is a freak. Julien Peterson is a stud. 2 More sacks this week
  15. For any person to live through the 119 loss season and want to come bnack to baseball, I will give him some credit
  16. I don't understand the logic. Zambrano will not win you as many games as Aron would in any year based soley on the number of games they each play. I can't understand how someone would not want one of the best players in this generation all because he is turning 32! But at the same time Lee is roughly the same age and seemingly Lee is better to have then Arod. Even with the pitching trouble that the Cubs had this year the general consensus was that the offense was the problem and that if we had a better balanced (Higher OBP) lineup then the Cubs would have been markedly better. But when push comes to shove and the way to get better is to trade zambrano then the cost is too high. You have to give up something to get something and right now, Z is likely the biggest and best trading chip we have. Here is a feasible scenario. Z signs a 1 year deal and is a free agent next offseason. By the deadline, the Cubs are out of the race again and all the signs are that Z won't resign. The Cubs send him to the Red Sox for a package of prospects. Which would you rather have? Arod or trade deadline prospects?
  17. i have a Nic Jackson baseball card in my office. Its one of those with a piece of a bat in it. Pretty cool stuff
  18. wow...how ridiculously overvalued Zambrano is. Sure he is a great pitcher and a bonefied Ace but there is no way he is even in the top 10 best pitchers in the game. Just amazing how Arod wouldn't be welcomed for Zambrano. Pitching is a valuable comodity but not as valuable as one makes it out to be. No single pitcher is a sure thing as evidenced but the supposed "Ace" getting beat in most every single matchup this post season. How is a player who plays once every 5 days more valuable then a player that plays all 5 days? Logic be damned apparently. The question boils down to if you would want a rotation of Hill, Marmol, Guzman, Prior & Mateo (or something similar) with Arod as your SS or would you rather have no Arod and take away Mateo and add Z. Which Transaction makes the bigger impact?
  19. HA, HA at Murton for Bedard... that would happen. Bedard is equivalant to Hill (probably better). Would you trade Hill for Murton?
  20. ABSOLUTELY. This is a no brainer. trade Zambrano for the best player in MLB. Of course you would. Arod would mean mor in win shares then Zambrano hands down, if not for the simple reason that he plays more then once a week. 35 starts versus 155 games played & 500 ABs. I think people forget the value that is Arod. We are talking about a MVP 2 seasons ago and a follow up season that was better then any current Cub. Sometimes, the fans get too attached to a player and not see the value of not having him is. The opportunity cost of not Having Zambrano versus not having Arod is a HUGE disparity. Is Zambrano one of the top 5 pitchers in the game. Simple anser NO. Is Arod one of the top 5 positional players inthe game? Simple answer YES. Do you really need to get more detailed? The only other question is if it is easier to Replace Zambrano then it would be to get Arod Production. Again, NO Cub came close to Arod last season in what was a down year for him. The closest was Aram. Now looking at Zambrano, some Cubs came somewhat close to his production and many other pitcher had similar numbers to Zambrano. It is entirely possible to trade Z for Arod and still sign Schimdt or Zito. Which would you rather have, Z & Zito or Arod and Zito? really, it isn't that hard of a question. Zambrano isn't as good as we think he is. Think of 5 other pitchers that are better then Zambrano. I bet you can think of them within 1 minute. Now try to think of 5 better players then Arod... Can;t happen. TRADE ZAMBRANO FOR AROD!
  21. err...sorry. I wasn't impling anything, I was seriously asking. What does Lou need to do in order to be accepted by the fandom.
  22. So for all those Piniella haters out there, what will it take for you to like this hire or at least think it was a good idea?
  23. Really? McNabb? Did we not see him implode last season? I think that we are overvaluing his performace this season and not considering his body of work. Who would you rather start a team with? I am firmly with the smarter QB Hass then the improv nature of McNabb.
  24. Uhh...I know the bars love in here is great, but Hass is still the best QB in the NFC.
