  1. this drive will be the Seahawks we are all used to
  2. if that is all it takes to get Young I am a stuffed turkey. But YES I would do that in a heartbeat.
  3. UGH. Thank God this is not on TV in my area. I would be going wild. Talk about an UGLY game.
  4. $4.1M in salary relief is more than nothing. It's still robbery if the 4.1m in salary relief was given to Glendon Rusch and Neifi Perez. Just to Rusch now!
  5. his work this year makes your statement look foolish J.R. He obviously has been viable this season as he has nearly the same number of appearance as Howry. Will someone help me explain the term viable? Apparently its not getting through.
  6. so you're calling moore a viable major leaguer now? and novoa has not come anywhere close to giving the cubs the same production farnsworth did from 2001-2004, which even includes a terrible year from farnsworth. and i never said it was a bad trade...like i said, it's a wash. farnsworth got way more money than the cubs would have given him, so he wouldn't be a cub now anyway. but novoa's production could be matched by any number of 100's of other guys. I believe we are downplaying Novoa's contributions. I do believe that he is a contributor and more effective then others in his role. And yes Moore is a "viable" major leaguer. In other words a player likely to play in the major league. Lo and behold he has. The guy is a former 1st rounder and is only 22. I would say that the Farns trade is edge Cubs considering that the Tigers got nothing for him 4 months later.
  7. Good Luck. Pursue your dreams. I am sure I am with many others here in that we are jealous of your career and want to make sure you don't forget the little guys like us!
  8. I understand the general sentiment of mistrust but seriously I thin kwe are making more of this then what it really is. Many pitchers have trouble getting loose throughout the season and this appears to be the case here. It must be my blind optimism but in all reality I am more of a guy not ready to jump off the bridge unless I know all the facts. No reason to get excited unless we know what we are dealing with
  9. Novoa has given nearly the same production that Farns had given the Cubs. Not to mention at a fraction of the cost. Bash Hendry all you want but the Farnsworth trade is a poor example of a poor Hendry move. Het got 2 viable major leaguers for a headcase middle reliever.
  10. Go Seahawks!
  11. Gotta say that this is more offensive terminology to me then most swear words.
  12. I was actually going to start a thread about this because I don't understand. Is Cedeno viewed as the better player just because he is younger? That seems to be the only explanation for it. If that is the case who cares?
  13. Are you trying to imply I don't watch games? My guess is I've watched as many games as the majority of people on this forum this year. Errr...no. What I said is my general opinion on the usage of stats to solely make a decision. i.e. Batter A is 3-6 against picher A but is batting .250 for the year. Batter B is hitting 1-6 against Pitcher A but is hitting .320 for the year. Lets play Batter A due to his awesome stats against Pitcher A. I, in no way, implied anything about a specific poster. I'm not sure what i wrote to give that impression. Cuse has it right. Use both but give neither one more creedance then the other. Both are tools to use to get to a decision but not the answer to the decision.
  14. OBP is flawed. It does not include getting on base due to an error, or a fielder's choice. You are "on base" however. Exactly the reason why stats don't explain the whole game and by watching a ballgame you learn more then reading a box score. Otherwise there would be no reason to watch. To get a clear picture of the game AND the players playing you need to watch NOT read.
  15. wow...make fun all you want but that was a GREAT play
  16. Mateo seems to be settling in a little better/ Pitchcount for him?
  17. any other trade details yet? I am sure we are picking up come cash. The prospect is somewhat worth it.
  18. HA, Ha....THere are 5 threads already on this topic... I wonder how much of next season's salary we are paying?
  19. So who takes Neifi's spot? Fonetnot perhaps since Patterson was just promoted?
  20. For C Chris Robinson a 2005 3rd round pick & a FSL all star this season
  21. Neifi Just did get traded to Detroit for C Chris Robinson
  22. This game is why Baseball is better then ANY other sport. A team that is playing out the string provides great entertainment. You see something different in every game!
