  1. They couldn’t generate any pass rush vs the 49ers without Trent Williams, lions without Sewell and they won’t against the packers with no Zach Tom.
  2. A first round pick? So it’s not specific to small market teams then?
  3. If only Jerry sold the Bulls to the Ishbias and let Michael run the Sox instead.
  4. So how does this go? Love starts and finishes the game with a win and gets the last laugh, MLF makes a remark in the press conference saying it was nice beating Ben Johnson twice this year. God forbid we ever get the last laugh. Please prove me wrong. This would be such a demoralizing loss.
  5. I think it’s complete horsefeathers. Is it true that the Brewers received an extra first round pick for not resigning Adames?
  6. Sergio Mitre will be attending Cubs Con from zoom in his prison cell.
  7. Good optics. It’ll go over really well if they also whiff on Bregman/Bichette/Tucker
  8. His upside is par for the course for the cubs. He’d be an upgrade over Suzuki as a defender but has been inconsistent since his MVP year. His xWOBA was league average, his OPS was nearly 200 points lower away from Yankee stadium too. He consistently beats out his X stats to his credit. If the price is reasonable then it’s better than nothing I suppose.
  9. His X stats aren’t very good and benefited a lot from the Yankee stadium dimensions. Which version of a bellinger shows up, 2023 of 2024? With the chance for Bregman or Bichette I’d be disappointed if that’s who we end up with. Outside of a defensive upgrade in right field he’s been inconsistent since his MVP season and his upside is par for the course on the cubs roster.
  10. I worried about that possibility last year with Tucker’s fly balls dying at the warning track. Man I hope the wind doesn’t deter future free agent sluggers. Not that the Cubs are ever in the market for any big names so maybe it’s a wash.
  11. I’d be shocked if anyone gives an equivalent package for one year of team control for Skubal like you would for 3.5 years of control for a top 3 slugger like Soto.
  12. If Gordon is close to 100% and not on limited snaps. I don’t think that’ll be the case though. Good is Burden and Rome will be playing. They missed them badly in the second matchup. Having Rome will be huge on third downs and receiver YAC.
  13. I think you mean Padres. Soto had a year left when he was traded him to the Yankees like Skubal.
  14. This team may or not have been a Cabrera away from getting smoked by the dodgers. Horton might’ve been enough though. They still struggled to scores runs off of a wounded brewers pitching staff consisting of Freddy Peralta and 3 bullpen games.
  15. It came down to Horton being injured a week before the playoffs.
  16. At bats vs Lefties and Miles Mikolas no longer in the division will be the reasons Busch’s production dips.
  17. I don’t think the bears will make a deep run and I don’t care either as long as they win on Sunday.. Losing to the horsefeathers packers for the 57th time since 2011 would sour any positive season memories for me.
  18. And if the trade for an arm people thought trading cam smith was an overpay for Tucker imagine the blow back trading Cassie+Wiggins for Cabrera.
  19. Thanks for clarifying. So Busch will still platoon then.
  20. What am I missing with Austin? He hasn’t taken a major league at bat since 2019 and he’s penciled in as a quality bench bat?
  21. That’s what I’m saying. How much unused $ does Jed need for possible deadline trades where costs are at a premium? The time to move someone is now if that’s what it takes to add a sexy bat.
  22. Move Rae or Tailon they’ll still have Horton, Boyd, Cabrera, Shota, Tailon/Rae, Assad and Wicks. They’re also log jammed with positional depth as well. As of right now they’re beyond prepared to deal with any injuries. If a trade goes down at the deadline I’m sure they could negotiate a trade partner eating some salary. Jed doesn’t use the cash he sits on anyways because he refuses to make lopsided trades. Move whoever you can so you can add an impact bat and pray for health.
