  1. Brown, Imanaga, Assad, Rea and Wicks will be out 1-5 for at least another week.
  2. The game tying solo home run against LA in April? That’s the only hit that comes to mind.
  3. For whatever it’s worth, the Cubs have over $100 million coming off the books next season and a lot of the guys coming off the books are starting pitchers who aren’t very good. Outside of 75% of the infield there’s at least enough contractual flexibility to reshuffle the roster quickly and add quality arms instead of being on the hook for aging players like Sandiego and Philly, who failed to cash in on their championship windows. No guarantees with Jed but at least it’s not a do or die situation.
  4. Catches: Loveland yards: Burden Touchdowns: Loveland I think Burden plays well into Caleb’s down the field vision.
  5. Busch too. 2024: 788/712 2025: 910/642 2026: 805/752 I wish both could combine their right handed splits from a year ago.
  6. They really miss 2025 Brad Keller. They struck lightening in a bottle last year with their high leverage bullpen arms and win last nights game 3-1 with their 2025 high leverage magic.
  7. I liked seeing Shaw and Pedro with key hits. The future looks bright for someone else’s infield once they’re inevitably traded. That was a weird game.
  8. It’s been 5 weeks since they last won a game at wrigley without a walk off.
  9. Cubs have a 172 team wRC+ with only 2 horsefeathers runs to show for it in 7 innings.
  10. Cubs are trying to achieve having the highest team wOBA ever for a team that scored only 2 runs.
  11. Maton blows but he’s not to blame. 1 run off of Michael Lorenzen and his 9 ERA versus non Cubs opponents is to blame if they lose.
  12. Another curb your enthusiasm episode ending coming up to bookend this failed half inning
  13. Sickening. Bregman has been due for a big hit for 73 games now.
  14. They have the equivalent of Aaron judge who can steal bases for the last 18.3 games and they still can’t score horsefeathers runs.
  15. The quintessential Cub inning right here. PCA triple, Bregman groundout and a Suzuki strikeout with a man on third.
