  1. People are just sick of being teased by this team.
  2. That’s a glass half full attitude. Did you say that last year when they blew that 5 run 9th inning lead in Houston or that 6-0 lead in Milwaukee or any of those frustrating 1 run losses to Miami and Arizona? Win 2 of those and they’re the NL 6th seed.
  3. Even when they got off their 17-9 start it wasn’t a drama free April.
  4. An error from our outfielder and our third baseman capped off by Neris giving up a home run for the exclamation point. Some things never change.
  5. They’re mental midgets. We learned this last September.
  6. If it’s not the offense, if it’s not the bullpen, the defense comes to the rescue. This is a team coached by a $40 million manager?
  7. Totally. You can find a guy In the Mexican league who’ll give you similar production.
  8. Typical showing from the Cubs vs every NL team not named the Rockies. Every single time.
  9. If they hold on, that makes them 11-4 vs above 500 AL teams. They’re remarkably consistent. Lose 2/3 to any and every NL team not named the Rockies scoring at a clip of 2 runs/game, pull wins out of their a$$es vs teams like the Orioles and Royals where the offense shows life.
  10. What the catch here? The Rays trade a 25 YO all star with team control for a few more seasons for one of the leagues worst position players as the key piece in this trade package?
  11. He followed up in 2021 with a 2.8. His production this season capped off with Jed’s $240 million last place masterpiece gives that signing a more pessimistic outlook but who exactly was Jed bidding with? Atlanta offered him 6 $100 million.
  12. Morel wasn’t the key piece the Rays wanted unless I’m mistaken.
  13. There was logic in giving Heyward his deal based off past production. $177 million to a guy with a 14.6 WAR in 7 seasons with one season above 3 made no sense at the time and still doesn’t.
  14. $177 million for a 14.6 WAR in 7 seasons. Still drawing a blank on Jeds logic with this.
  15. Is paying a guy with a career 14.7 WAR in 8 seasons in Atlanta $177 million for 7 years an obnoxious waste of money?
  16. Between Happ Seiya Swanson and Bellinger you can have 13 runs above average for $94 million just this year. for $25 million and 20 runs above average you could’ve had Marcus Simean for example. He’d give us 15 more runs than Dansby and Suzuki combined for $17 million less AAV if Jed went that route instead in 2021/22 offseason. nice roster building Jed. Thanks tourists and college kids for packing wrigley and giving Tom no incentive to put a winning product on the field
  17. Score 6 on Friday, 4 on Saturday, 2 Sunday, 1 Monday, 3 and 4 runs Tuesday and Wednesday. offense in any given year still averages 3.5 rpg, with those 21 runs enough to take at 5 of 6. Thing is did Tom hire Jed because of his unwillingness to spend on quality bats, is he being handcuffed by Tom or did Tom hire the wrong guy? remember Theo generously signing free agents in Boston and making big trades landing Crawford Gonzalez Bay Dasuke Lowell becket and many others. With the cubs Heyward was his big free agent plush commanding under $200 million and of course Lester (great signing) over Scherzer, an objectively better pitcher. I really believe ownership has a lot of say especially if you followed Theo in Boston who wouldn’t hesitate to throw $ at high impact talent. that 04 Sox team under Jed/Tom would have the same position players if you subtract Manny big papi Nomar (before trade) and varitek). Mueller Nixon Mills’s Damon are all fine players that won’t win s*** if that’s your core. Am i wrong or is this a pattern under our ownership?
