  1. send them to the bullpen
  2. any chance he's hurt. . . .not so much that he can't pitch, but to the point that he can't pitch 6+ innings?
  3. gotta protect those 5 run leads vs opponents with .111 winning percentages.
  4. I didn't watch the game, so could someone explain the 121 pitches thrown in 5 innings by Big Z? Was he over used?
  5. Isn't Joey Belle still on the O's pay roll?? I think they'll trade him. . .. obviously I have no inside information, but I think a trade will be the way it all goes down. Cubs will have to eat at least $10 million per year.
  6. how many 18 million dollar players get taken out on a double switch?
  7. I think he's just bat poop crazy
  8. So what two new teams were added this year? :D by the time this stuff comes out, there will be 32 teams. . . . .yeah, that's it.
  9. if the Pirates can't afford this technology, would it be considered "cheating" if the other 31 teams use it? I think so. . . .
  10. This guy beat them to it. . .. http://www.iwatchstuff.com/2008/10/06/tron-guy.jpg
  11. pretty good chance one of these teams scores 20+ runs tomorrow
  12. So is it "Busch League" or "Bush League?"
  13. I was 8 or 9 years old when this article came out. I remember reading it in an outdated SI in our school library (they'd keep a stack of old magazines for the kids to look through) and thought it was the coolest thing ever. . . .had me convinced, but I was young :)
  14. The Cardinals are being picked to repeat for the same reasons the Cubs were picked to repeat last year. The cubs will contend for the division.
  15. totally agree on the Maddux win. It had to have been the worst outing for a 300th win, and it really wasn't a big deal in the real of Cub history. I'd put the Sandberg game much higher than Maddux getting #300.
  16. I'm watching ARam for the first time today. . . .. .is it just me or does have a "don't give a crap" attitude? Maybe he'll turn it on during the regular season.
  17. Grace wasn't mexicanny enough for cindy sandberg
  18. Wow, Vlad at Arlington is like Jeff Blauser at Wrigley (as a Brave)
  19. What's the deal with Hendry and back loaded contracts?
  20. and people wonder why the pirates suck wooly mammoth rod
  21. muskat gets a hof vote, right?
  22. I'm just glad we haven't made it to "you're an idiot because you think Andre Dawson is a HoF'er" level, yet. . . . .then again, we are supposed to be cub fans here :) Dawson -- yes. OleMiss pretty much nailed my feelings on the Hawk. No brainer to me Lee Smith -- yes. Sorry media people -- you glorified the save, now take your medicine and put Lee Arthur Smith in the Hall. Alomar --- yes. Dude was awesome. I hate him, but he was awesome. Blyleven -- for the love of Christ, yes. Raines -- has a snowball's chance in hell, but I'd certainly put him in Larkin -- 10 times better player than Ozzie Smith. YES McGriff -- I put him in. For crying out loud, the guy hit 493 homers. He was a model of consistency and all indications are that he was a "clean" player. Trammell -- yes! I know will clark bashed our collective teeth in in '89, but I always liked him. In fact, in 1988 I began hitting left handed (I was 11) and modeled my swing after Will the Thrill. It worked -- I raked as a lefty. . . . hit .860 as a 12 year old including a game where I hit a slam and drove in 12. .. . .I was a fat will clark clone :) I also K'd 12 batters in 5 innings that game. . .. twas my ESPN moment. Bhogg for HoF!!!!!
  23. I say make the move. The cubs haven't won a single world series since being in arizona!!
  24. If I could spell, I'd have had a 176. Instead, I had a 171. I think a telling story for the 90's cubs is that Jim Bullinger was opening day starter worthy.
  25. he has an very small upper body when compared to his huge ass
