  1. Mo has been working on catching all season in AAA. I'm sure they want him to be a catcher. He'll have to wait until an injury or Kelly walks after next year in order to get much time there though. He's probably going to be our DH next year at least against RHP so it is what it is.
  2. Brewers have scored 9 runs with no HR. I guess this is how they do it.
  3. My expectation for this offseason is that Tucker walks and they fill his spot in-house with Seiya and Mo/Caissie/Alcantara/Long and maybe a FA RHB platoon bat. I don't see any major position player acquisitions happening. They'll need to bank on improvements from young guys like PCA, Shaw, Amaya and the rookies to help make up a bit for losing Tucker. I think they do the usual with the pitching by grabbing bargain pen arms and try to acquire a good value deal at SP like Imanaga/Boyd were. Some people won't like me saying this but I think this is what's most likely to happen. Hoyer surprised us with the Tucker trade so maybe he does something bold again. We have a guy like Conrad they could deal.
  4. Agreed. And same with any decision. Including starting Boyd on 3 days rest. It was a gamble and Counsell lost.
  5. Yup the Cubs SP had an average xFIP in the 2nd half. The entire staff were 23rd in xFIP for the season. Our pitching is at best average and helped a ton by defense and Wrigley wind. However, I think some of this is by design as Jed seems to not put much money into the rotation and pen but towards the position side.
  6. Technically we can bring in Palencia and start beaning all of the Brewer hitters on the knee and wrist and throw stink bombs in their dugout.
  7. The 2nd inning was an improvement on the 1st inning at least. We're getting better. The goal is only giving up 1 run per inning.
  8. Soroka's body language on the mound always depresses me LOL.
  9. Hey our 220m payroll could have afforded another TORP in the offseason too. Colin Rea is ok but man....
  10. For some reason i'm getting like half a second delay of the broadcast where the sound happens before the video.
  11. Making up 3 runs on Peralta will be very tough.
  12. So Boyd had a 7.84 ERA vs the Brewers in the regular season this year. They may need to consider faking an injury for him after this and rostering Assad.
  13. Should have put Assad on the roster LOL, could be warming up
  14. I hear you but Mo isn't the best fielder so he's really a DH or pinch hitter in these playoffs. He can pinch hit for someone like Kelly or Shaw late in the game and not much else unfortunately.
  15. Technically they can choose to only use their 3 best SP since the Gane 1 and 2 SP can start games 4 and 5 on normal rest. But beyond Boyd and maybe Taillon there's no clear 3rd best SP. Shota has kinda sucked lately. Luckily the Brewers were 22nd I believe in hitting HR. We need to avoid walks, which our rotation is best in MLB at. What i like about Boyd is his pick off move can control their running game. I think we match up well against them.
  16. Since Boyd threw 58 pitches last start the 3 days rest shouldn't be a huge deal.
