I like Ben's potential but I don't understand how a guy his size is such a soft tosser. He's like 6 ft 7 and throws as hard as Marcus Stroman. You'd think his fastball would be easy cheese at 98+, not to mention some sort of an advantage from his extension/length in pitch delivery

I saw stats in the PCA appreciation thread about how much better PCA has been since July of last year, almost like he flipped a switch overnight. I have to imagine there are similar stats for Amaya because he just looks like a different player since then. Since the all star break last year, he's been an above average catcher on both offense and defense. And leading up to the all star break last year, he was one of the worst catchers in baseball. The player development has been awesome with Amaya, Busch, PCA and even Seiya

Palencia shoutout. Seems like 4 or 5 outings in a row where he's come in and delivered. Not sure how sustainable it'll be given his previous struggles with consistency, but he has the stuff to make it at this level. Hopefully we are starting to see it.

I went to the game last night, best seats I've ever had. 4 rows behind Cubs dugout. Heckled RIcketts when he walked past right after the game ended. Matthew Boyd, one of the nicest players I've ever interacted with. When I yelled out his name he turned around and chatted with me for a few seconds and said he'd throw me a ball if there was an opportunity. PCA's speed is insane to watch live, he's probably faster than Tyreke Hill

OT: I remember a lot of people, including myself, that were intrigued about a possible Bo Bichette trade in previous seasons, I just saw that this guy hasn't had a home run in over 100+ plate appearances this year and not since June of last season. Crazy how much things change in this game because he used to be a premier player

His defense is certainly excellent. I just thought that when the Cubs got him, we'd get a couple of seasons where he looked in Atlanta where he was a genuinely a really good hitter at the plate.. still time I guess. He's too talented to hit this badly

I didn't think it possible for the Cubs to find a worse contract and possibly player than Jason Heyward, but here we are. They would have lost nothing by keeping Nico at shortstop and using that money towards a SP or a different need
