  1. Okay, this genuinely made me LOL. Brutal.
  2. *gives cross-eyed look* It was there two days ago. Where the hell did it go?
  3. You were right the first time. Enjoy your victory, Cubs fans. I shall return victorious another day.
  4. It’s utterly perfect that a guy who looks like that and has the name Rowdy is on the Brewers, though.
  5. Stroman getting some generous calls but he’s also throwing that sinker exactly where he needs to live.
  6. That was basically a perfect pitch from Stroman to strike out Yelich.
  7. Yeah, definitely. I have quite a bit of work to do on dark mode, will get to it next week, I hope.
  8. Email me at brock.beauchamp@northsidebaseball.com, thanks.
  9. Welcome, Randy! I'm excited to see what you have in store for the site!
  10. Ah, we don’t use spoilers on the other sites so that makes sense. I’ll fix that later today.
  11. Question: do we want to start these threads in the Cubs forum and then move them to this forum after the game? That's what we do on the other sites to promote more in-game conversation.
  12. This is one of the most-requested features on communities we run and I'm happy to announce that Dark Mode is finally a thing you can use across the site! Dark Mode is a new way to use North Side Baseball, especially at night or in darkened rooms. Instead of the background being black text over white background, it's the inverse: white text over black background. Some people find sites easier to use and read in this inverted scheme and now it's really easy to toggle back and forth as needed. At the top right of each page, you will see four icons in the blue bar; the first icon is a half-filled circle. Click that to toggle back and forth from light to dark modes on the site. That's it! Now, the site has become quite sprawling and while I tried to check every aspect of how this renders on each page, I surely missed some things. Therefore, dear user, you are my quality assurance team. If you see anything that's hard to read, doesn't work right, or just plain looks weird, add a comment below and I'll get it fixed as soon as possible. For those of you who have been asking for this feature for so long, sorry it has taken this long. What seemed like a pretty simple feature actually turned into an overly-complex problem that I couldn't solve without quite a bit of effort. Please let me know if you experience any issues with this new mode!
  13. Yeah, this setup kinda sucks, but mostly on mobile. On desktop, you can cmd+a and it grabs the quote so you can delete it. It doesn't do this on mobile and I haven't dug into why yet.
  14. Do you have an older account you'd like me to merge with this one?
  15. Go to your profile page, left sidebar on desktop, there's a followers box.
  16. I've added that to the toolbar, it's an eyeball. But only available on desktop and tablet, there's no room on phone screen toolbars.
  17. Hey now, I'm barely a Twins fan. Have you looked at their postseason record? At best, I tolerate the team at this point. (only half joking)
  18. Nothing quite like that but I'll add it to the list of things to look into once things settle down a bit. It's an interesting idea. Not sure how to implement it exactly using keywords - that could lead to chaos - but I'm pretty confident that I could cook something up where if you don't like a particular thread, you can put the entire thread on ignore.
  19. The Disney classic, Mickey Does Mushrooms
  20. That's exactly how it works. For better site integration, we actually use the forums for article commenting. If you place a comment in either place - the front page article or its corresponding forum thread - it appears in both places. The goal is to tighten up most of the site into more of a cohesive whole. You use the site how/where you want and that content propagates elsewhere.
  21. I kinda knew some of this but seeing it laid out in detail is interesting. Stro is a throwback in a mostly fun way. I've always been a fan of his - I wanted the Twins to sign him before the Cubs snatched him up - and if healthy, I think he's a key to this team in 2023. With that said, a good 2023 probably means he opts out... which I also think is probably a good thing for the Cubs. Given his size, age, and pitching profile, I'm not sure I want Stroman around for several more years after this one.
  22. Fun tidbit: yesterday, 1,006 people dropped by NSBB. The last time 1,000 people visited the site was April 9th, 2019.

You are supposed to say "Go CUBS !!!" after you post a "statistic, the last time statistic happened was mm/dd/yyyy" type of post.   that's how Fred did it 😁
