  1. There are still legit concerns about the offense, especially sans Suzuki, but going 1-1 vs Burnes and Woodruff shouldn’t send hopes spiraling. You have to love the early returns on Swanson. Maybe not so much Bellinger. But if you want one of those two things to work out, it’s def Swanson.
  2. Keep this up for 162 and it’s impossible to be wrong.
  3. Okay, thanks. As soon as the ad provider is back on Monday, I’ll talk to them about it.
  4. It’s harder to grip the ball when it’s cold so it makes sense that spin would decrease though I don’t know this for sure.
  5. I get that it’s new and everything but there just isn’t that much to talk about. It’s a timer. As sports fans, we’re relatively familiar and comfortable with the concept of a clock that runs backwards to zero.
  6. Hah, obviously that's my preferred option but as I said, the ads are just getting rolling. I am always open to constructive input on how to improve the experience. Right now, it appears I have no control over the ad dashboard, as they were just installed. Once I get access to the dashboard, I can check the settings and see if anything looks out of place.
  7. What pop up advertising are you talking about? On a phone, there should just be the one footer advertisement that covers a small portion of the bottom of the screen.
  8. I'm messing with you, I enabled the forum for you after you posted that.
  9. Oh, PayPal is the only form of payment accepted but traditional CC processing will come soon.
  10. Now that’s a hell of an idea. Thanks!
  11. So in case any of you wish to remove them, I have enabled the caretaker part of the site. This is a subscription service that allows you to use the site ad-free. It's a huge help to the site and allows us to maintain a consistent revenue source to pay our creators so if you're interested, please sign up. Otherwise, if you have any issues with ads, please share them here. Ad delivery takes a few weeks to refine so bear with us while we sort things out in the coming days. https://northsidebaseball.com/subscriptions
  12. Thread titles are changed by editing the original post. Any mod or admin can do it at any time but users have a one hour time limit. Is this something you all need frequently? I can disable that one hour time limit.
  13. Yeah, I thought I implied that but maybe not. Steele has Woodruff-type upside, just not sure he's quite there yet.
  14. It's right there on the forum index page. You're just not looking hard enough. *saunters away, whistling innocently*
  15. This is where the series gets interesting. How will Steele do against a very good, veteran Brandon Woodruff?
  16. Dusty has done a great job of evolving with the game but let's just say he isn't the first guy over the wall, ever.
  17. Old baseball had great pace and action but boy it sure was stupid.
  18. Hard to argue with the very early results of the Swanson contract, especially considering his uffda spring.
  19. I think it's a win all-around if he has a great year and opts out. The Cubs get a great season from him, Stroman gets another good contract somewhere, and the Cubs aren't on the hook with an older pitcher who doesn't miss a ton of bats and is physically tiny. Stroman doesn't have a pitching profile that inspires confidence as he ages.
  20. Yeah, there's some weird asset management issue happening on the site and we can't pin down exactly what is causing it. Oh well, we'll get it resolved at some point.
  21. He was electric yesterday. The umpire got an assist for his low strike zone but Stroman was putting pitches exactly where they needed to be, an impressive feat on Opening Day in less-than-optimal weather. It's only one start but they've only played one game so over-reaction is the word of the day. If Stroman looks like he looked yesterday for most/all of this season, I think the Cubs become fringe competitors for the division and/or a Wild Card berth.
  22. As an adoptive father of two wonderful girls, I wholly endorse this post!
