  1. Still no game thread so I'm doing it! The Marlins looks surprisingly competent this season and the Cubs are spot-starting Kilian. Could be an interesting day.
  2. I'll leave it up to you and also sent a message to @David. If there's no thread 30 minutes before game time, just go ahead and create one. I'm out of town this weekend so I'm away from the computer most of the time.
  3. My middle name is Beauregard. God, that’d be so embarrassing if true.
  4. Okay, this made me laugh. The reason I split this particular thread is because I’m going to start promoting the forum and individual threads more on social. I’m still setting up how exactly to do that but easily-digested, timely content is a necessity. And this seemed like a good test subject for that.
  5. *walks off nonchalantly, quietly whistling*
  6. Yes, click on the + sign next to quote, scroll to the next post you want to quote, do the same, then scroll down to the text field to type and both are there. There is no embedded quotes, though, because the general thinking nowadays is that a person spends more time taking out unnecessary quotes than occasionally embedding multiple quotes.
  7. If you want me to merge your accounts and get you access to your old account, just PM me.
  8. The Pirates won again today. Is it possible they’re actually good? That doesn’t seem possible.
  9. I'll take a look at the load times. The jump to post thing is super-aggravating, I'm going to see if I can some up with a better solution for that.
  10. Why so? I'm not a big video person myself but the young-uns almost demand them nowadays.
  11. LOL Wisdom is definitely going to regress. I'm less concerned about that happening than I am others picking up the slack. Seeing some life out of Mancini is a good thing to see for that reason.
  12. Sure, it's possible, but going into the season both Minnesota and Cleveland looked better than the White Sox. A month into the season, that's definitely the case. It's incredibly unlikely the Sox - especially with that farm system - find a way to flip the script and pass two teams that are better, have more depth, and have already staked a significant lead.
  13. We're going to rotate the game threads back to the start of the list, which means @Ding Dong Johnson is due up today.
  14. I’m have to start nudging my expectations for this team upward. They’re just playing too well, I don’t see them finishing under .500.
  15. I’m pretty amazed Smyly got out of that allowing only two runs.
  16. Nobody actually expected the rotation to look this good, did they?
  17. They probably need to, as it should shorten the rebuild process by a couple of years if they do it right.
  18. Splitting this off because woof, this tweet puts their record into context. I said they might be out of the race by May 15th. It's more likely they're already out of the race.
  19. Ah, okay, then I'll try to recreate the original list and post it again.
  20. @Transmogrified Tiger Yeah something is up there, adding it to the list of things to look into.
  21. Oh yeah, there's not much to read into this year - yet - but sitting at 12-12 isn't exactly a strong start. It's the kind of thing that happens to good baseball teams early in the season but it's not a ringing endorsement, either.
  22. Oh, I'm not writing them off in the slightest bit. I'd put them at no lower than 80% chance to make the postseason. It's more of a perpetual issue with the Padres where they add more levels of ridiculous talent, yet have disappointed during the regular season for several years in a row.
