  1. My personal votes would be Charlotte (or the Carolinas region) or Montreal, yes.
  2. How weird will it be to see that green jersey read "Las Vegas" or "Nashville" or whatever in the future?
  3. It's not even like I can give Stro much credit against this offense.
  4. It felt like that first inning that didn't amount to anything would lead to more runs but... not so much.
  5. It's wildly offset. I actually like offset cameras as a change of pace but what Oakland does feels like they just crammed a camera where it fit. Which is almost surely what they did.
  6. Just be forewarned, NSBB went through a big new transition just a couple of weeks ago but we're a GREAT place to talk Cubs. It's a moderated forum that prioritizes smart discussion over flame-throwing... but our game threads are slow right now. We're working on it but please check out the Cubs forum as well and contribute!
  7. That's outstanding! Thank you for registering and welcome to NSBB!
  8. Welcome to the site! Are you an old member re-registering or completely new?
  9. Wikipedia is amazing. So I decided to go back and check to see if the Browns were as bad as I think they were. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis_Browns This is a line from the page: "As of April 2023, there are only three living former St. Louis Browns players: Billy Hunter, Ed Mickelson, and Frank Saucier." Someone in the world is out there updating the Wiki page for the St Louis Browns. In the past 18 days.
  10. Fans are rightly pissed off at the franchise. The modern A's are doing a hell of a job of impersonating the St Louis Browns.
  11. I get that and that's the obvious difference but stuff like the xwOBA still seems extreme even if you balance out the reduction in Ks but also the reduction in exit velo. Those two should cancel each other out, at least somewhat. And then you're still left with an xwOBA much higher than last season. Still confused.
  12. I think the Cubs’ path to the postseason is through St Louis. I know it’s often foolish to underrate the Cards but their pitching staff is shaky af and Arenado/Goldschmidt are almost a given to decline YoY. They were too good last year and are too old for that to happen again. I think the Brewers are pretty legit but losing Woodruff could seriously hamper them long-term if Houser can’t come back and be even somewhat effective. But they have *a ton* of good positional prospects in or near MLB.
  13. Before the season I had them at 77-78 wins. Maybe I bump that a game now but not enough to really matter. So pretty much the same as before.
  14. Catching up on last night's game and the A's are somehow worse than I thought they were.
  15. I simply don't get the third catcher thing. I didn't understand it 15 years ago when the Twins did it constantly and I sure as hell don't get it today when benches are shorter because bullpens are longer.
  16. I thought "Maybe StatCast has the answers! Off to Baseball Savant I go!" Narrator: "StatCast did not, in fact, have the answers, and Brock left more confused than he entered."
  17. Eight home runs with a 1.139 OPS.
  18. Playing the A's is fun! (provided you don't actually have to sit in their stadium) The pitching and hitting advantage couldn't be more in favor of the Cubs tonight, which reduces their chance of winning to 40%, tops.
  19. I choose Mancini every time. And he’s a platoon for Mervis.
