    you like, Chris? i could set you up. i grew up with Ria and we remain very close friends to this day. quad cities represent! she's a gymnast and a very smart girl--got into MIT but decided on Rice, threw off the shackles of the workaday world to pursue her dream. hasn't given up though she's spent more than her recquisite time at AA without being offered a crew chief's position. cardinal fan growing up, though she always made me jealous by telling stories about my favorite cubs as they passed through west tenn. she tells everyone that her father is carlton fisk, which is weird. great to see her getting some pub on SC, let's all hope against hope that she makes it. it's starting to look better for her every day.

    if we're going to pay a bunch of money for the 6th pick, why not just give it to briggs, trade out of the first round so we don't have to pay anyone else and call it a day?

    My thought is that I suggested this a long time ago. :) he's finally getting the proper instruction at the major league level.

    give me break. we lost to last year's runner up (who should have been a 1 seed) in their own backyard. I'd hardly put the blame on Self. I'm so sick of bitter illini fans talking smack about Self's coaching. We lost to a great team. At least we didn't give up a huge lead in the waning minutes to lose to a mediocre VT squad. Have fun with your mid-major roster in the big ten. I'll stick with Self. wow, wasn't expecting such a response. the university of illinois paid bill self for 3 years so he could put such a team together at KU, the least he could do is make a final four with them.

    cedeno appears to be making important adjustments in his game. thank goodness that dusty and his crew weren't allowed to completely ruin this kid before a guy like perry could get his hands on him.

    i'm sure that that darn neuxbie vance didn't know that, or else i'm sure he would have felt compelled to put it there. Though this came from the FJM site, it isn't Morgan related. Therefore, I gave it its own thread. I start threads as I please. i was going to say that the thread is pretty pertinent to issues we've been talking about all offseason. and i'll take any opportunity i can to take a shot at juan pierre, who isn't good at anything yet is getting paid like he's good at everything.

    his arm strength isn't built up yet, it will come. there's physucally wrong with prior, unless his psychological problems are organic.

    Isnt Dusty on that? I wouldn't recommend it at all, unless you're in for a good laugh. According to TV Guide, http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/baseball-tonight/199918 "Fri, Mar 30 12:30 AM" it will be a lot like steve phillips having to swallow his pride when talking about how good the mets have become.

    it was really cool watching him and deng on the court at the same time. kind of reminds me of how the old bulls were built, around length and athleticism.

    http://www.log24.com/log/saved/Quantum_Baseball.html This is a very slippery slope for those of us who are superstitious :wink: there is the theory that we change our universe simply by observing it. there have been several fairly conclusive tests done with a particle cannon and hi-speed microscopic cameras that prove as much. I believe they shot electrons through holes and watched how they ended up on the other side. When they weren't watching, the result was different. I know I've seen a google video on this, I just cant find it right now. EDIT: FOUND IT! :o Google Video exactly what i'm talking about. great find! i first saw it on "what the bleep...?"

    So... One small thing, can effect many others. I'm more into focusing on what happens in the game. Hypothetical example: Soriano gets on base. Murton is up next. Soriano is caught stealing on a failed hit & run. The next pitch, Murton homers to left field. We are then all left saying "Man, why did he try to steal? It would've been a 2 run HR!! That idiot..."... How do we know that? How do we know that the pitcher's mind drastically changed to something as little Soriano being caught stealing 2B, or how do we know that Murton's mindset didnt change because of the failed hit & run? Should we really assume that Murton would've hit the home run anyway? Feel free to post your opinion. that's why managerial decisions should be consistent with organizational policy-to minimize fluctuation and the randomness that pervades professional baseball.
