  1. jeez, lisa, lighten up.
  2. your views are intriguing to me and i wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  3. i remember jake plummer throwing on the run with his left hand when he played for the broncos, maybe it was an homage?
  4. wasn't kentuvky close to getting major major major sanctions after sutton?
  5. But you should have known he had a penchant for INTs when they acquired him. It's not the "same dumb plays". Rex's dumb plays were incomprehensibly dumb. Throwing a pick 40 yards down the field because you were trying to pressure the defense and were a yard off is not the same as panicking in the pocket and throwing the ball 50 feet in the air to a linebacker while falling onto your back. Jay will throw some INT's on a crossing pattern as a guy cuts across the coverage, but he's not nearly the loon that Rex became as things fell apart. I'm not saying there won't be dumb plays, but all QB's throw what look like dumb picks. But all dumb plays are not equally dumb. i thought the pick he threw looked like a rex pick, but not because he made the throw, but because he threw it up and didn't get much on it. i was expecting a longer throw, and from his comments, i think he learned something from it. don't throw it up for grabs when brandon marshall isn't doing the jumping, and when hester's running, just throw it as deep as you can.
  6. i'm thinking he is mistaking anabolic steroids for anti-inflammatories. yes, anti-inflammatories reduce muscle irritation and soreness and decrease recovery time. anabolic steroids are totally different altogether.
  7. Yep, I hope we knock his ass out. Nov 1st is going to be so un real. Is this the general feeling among Packers fans? How long will it take for these wounds to heal? Years. This finally puts the Vikes ahead of the Bears in my book. when i was growing up, the bears' main rival was always the vikings. don't worry, the bears will smash your faces on opening night and it will make everyone really really mad.
  8. People take track seriously? It's practice for real sports. Track is the second biggest sport in the world behind soccer. Just because America doesn't embrace it doesn't mean people don't follow it. It paid for my college education, so I still follow it when I can. In terms of what? Participation? "i play real sports, i'm not trying to be the best at excercising."
  9. oh man, that makes me so mad. i really really hope that there's either a huge public backlash or an example made of usc as well.
  10. yes, that's the article i was referencing.
  11. I honestly think 19.1 and change is not out of the question. He looked sharp out of the blocks and just opened up after his drive phase. 9.58 is just ridiculous though. Gay broke the American record and got beat pretty bad. I'm curious to see what Gay can do in the 200. He just PRed in the 100. He looks to be in incredible shape. i think gay can take him in the 200, he's taken him in the past. but that was before bolt mysteriously got way faster in a way short time frame.
  12. He's managing in AA. I know that. What I'm getting at is that (assuming) the majority of us don't see him manage everyday. Maybe you manage minor league guys different that you would major leaguers. I really don't know. Granted, if he's come right out and said he's a sac bunt, hit and run type guy that's probably not what the club needs. Aside from Rocket said, if anything you'd want a minor league manager to do even less of the intervening moves, since those games are primarily about individual development. Sandberg trying sac bunts with the 3rd hitter of the game, hitting and running all the time, and getting thrown out for arguing every 2 weeks is a very bad sign down there. they have to learn the fundamentals!
  13. just go the [expletive] away, dude. we all know the team from your town will destroy the team from our town in the upcoming sporting contest. we have been enlightened. you can leave, now, balance has returned to the force. i'll send the signal up when you're needed.
  14. that's probably true that golf is more interesting when there is a clear "best player in the world" but it's boring when that best player wins majors by 5+ strokes. the ideal situation is to have that guy consistently in contention, but also have a lot of guys challenging him in the big tourneys. i'll agree with that.
  15. All sports are more fun to watch when there is actual competitive competition, parity, or any element of the unknown. If Tiger was up by 2+ on the 18th hole I would have changed the channel. but it's really really boring when a guy from cedar rapids or hollidaysburg or the yucatan peninsula wins and then disappears. tiger provides a hero for some and a villain for others, he gives the story a plot. plus, there's the greatness factor, the feeling you're watching history. hell, Tiger has become a record himself. YE Yang just became the first golfer to overtake a frontrunning Tiger on the last day of a major and everyone is talking about it like he just broke 60.
  16. he's history's greatest monster.
  17. when michael vick tells people to love their animals, he's just stringing words together.
  18. golfing is a sport that just isn't fun to watch unless there's a guy who dominates it like tiger does. i root for him in part because of this, people root against him because of it, too. but golf is just boring when you have you have a different major champion from tournament to tournament. who's this guy? rich beem. who's that guy? some dude from canada. who won the PGA championship? some guy from Korea. North or South? don't care.
  19. frontrunner. playerhater.
  20. rooting against tiger is like rooting against golf.
  21. "his english is not great...." or existent, for that matter.
  22. Give him a gold piece and send him home. He has a story to tell.
  23. he's buried, and he might have had a shot if yang misses the putt, but he now needs to chip an invisible ball in.
