  1. The tailagting at Beaver Stadium is awesome. I can vouch for LSU's as well. LSU does have the advantage, however, of playing almost all of their home games at night. Longer tailgate party almost always equals better tailgate party.
  2. Unless Jabroni registered with another name, yes. Good ol' aparoche. he's been IMing me about 4 times a day with comments like "YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARRRRRDDDDD, YESSSSSSSSSSSS!"
  3. It would definitely be worth $50. Heck, I'd like to have one. I wonder how you'd authenticate it, though. I wasn't aware that they were doing work on Wrigley. What's the plan? Shredding the outfield wall, putting in 1800 more bleacher seats, installing a restaurant in the batter's eye in center, punching an old woman, taking her money, hiring Darren Baker.
  4. um, how do you beat none?
  5. it's blocked off. Fences and security people.
  6. Went by it this morning. Most of the bricks that made up the outer walls on Waveland and Sheffield are now in a pile on the sidewalk. The steel supports for the bleachers are exposed. I'll try and post pics tomorrow, maybe.
  7. I say JoePa, you say Terno. JoePa...
  8. Fine, use the entire season. With the exception of slugging Lee and Pujols' numbers are for all practical purposes the same, so give it to the guy who's team made the playoffs. Lee was unbelievable in the first half of the season, and just good in the second half. For half the season Lee did not play like an MVP. Wow. Lee for the season outperformed Pujols in just about every metric, including more all-encompassing ones like VORP, or RC, or RCAA, or BPA, or EqA. That's all there really is to it. And none of it counted for squat. Well, now I'm convinced.
  9. You guys should just give up now. I'm taking this one.
  10. Thank god this s*** is over.
  11. How do you know Charlie Weeghman didn't buy previously-used "trough's" when they built Weeghman Park? This guy might be on to something.
  12. Well, I'll be drunk, but I may be there.
  13. What the crap kinda play was that? I think he hooked and lateraled to the other team there
  14. i have a question: how did you not see this one coming? or was it a more hopeful thing?
  15. It's about time we saw a win like that from Penn State. The game next weekend will be very interesting.
  16. Go Penn State!
  17. Here's how: 1. Dusty F. Baker is owed $4 mil next year. If he's fired, he still gets paid, plus they'd have to pay another manager. 2. The fans show up no matter what. 3. The Trib doesn't care if the Cubs win or lose as long as people show up. Maybe the Trib doesn't...unless they can get a manager cheaper. good news and bad news Trib loss million of dollars last year with other ventures, there stock has plumeted. first thing always done is to eliminate excessive contracts that don't produce. I say Dusty falls under that perameters But he gets paid no matter what. if you hire someone else, you end up spending more than if you kept Dusty for the next year. it's a guaranteed contract.
  18. it's 30 night games this year.
  19. HAHAHAHAHAHA Macias close and late: .130/.143/.152 in 46 at-bats
  20. .259, 10th in the NL. Their RISP OBP is .338, only better than Arizona. This is helped none by the fact that Neifi has been at the plate with RISP the third most times on the team (1 fewer opportunity than Ramirez!) and has hit .264/.288/.426. Patterson is 6th on the team for most opportunities with RISP and has hit an amazing .218/.273/.307. Combined Corey and Neifi have gotten more than 17% of the Cubs AB's with RISP. Neither of them should have gotten these opportunities - the bench (preferably in another town) was an option. That is quite an impressive RISP slugging for Corey. Even Macias couldn't pull that off. Edit: I lied. Jose's line is .250/.267/.300 in 40 at-bats
