  1. and then the ump comes back and doesn't call the exact same pitch Ausmus struck out on a strike to start the ninth
  2. way to fully end the rally, ump
  3. way to try and end the rally, ump.
  4. Unfortunetaly, I can't view the video, so I'm not in position to respond. But I will take this to mean that there were two guys in the clip, both devestatingly handsome. Handsome is one way to put it.
  5. Thinking about that is making me slightly nauseous. Wuertz would actually have to spend money to buy the Cubs. He wouldn't think of doing that. He's a bottom feeder. he's just a young reliever. He doesn't make THAT much.
  6. I think I'll stay inside for the next several years.
  7. Wait till basketball season. :( When Dee Brown and, um, wait, I know this one....oh well, Dee Brown will single handedly carry the Illini to 5th place in the Big Ten. I don't think we (and by we, I mean you, me and Truffle) should get involved in any college basketball smack talk considering that Dee Brown could probably singlehandedly beat Penn State. Penn State has a basketball team? Well played.
  8. Good thing we don't have that to worry about.
  9. The minor league buses kept getting flat tires on the side he sat on.

  11. When I saw him on the screen in his new jacket and hat last night I swore so loud that half of Murphy's bleachers turned around to stare at me
  12. huzzah, former school!
  13. I have always admired Larry Walker. I remember my first game in the bleachers (and the only time I have ever sat in right), Walker went after a foul ball hit right behind the Colorado bullpen, and, in his attempt to catch it, went headfirst into the bricks. At this point, Colorado was up (surprise!) by about 5 or 6 runs. The entire bleachers gave him a standing O as he walked back to his position.
  14. Dont forget: "You're risking a patient's life!" That's the one I was trying to remember. I think my favorite part about that promo is that everyone seeing that line thought, "oh, he's a compassionate doctor." Then, when the show actually aired, he turned out to be the least compassionate doctor in history.
  15. C'mon people. peter gammons, harold Reynolds and John Kruk all picked the White Sox. There's no way they'll win.
  16. Not that it matters, but Izzy threw both the 8th and the 9th.
  17. I watched it too, and yes, it was unbelievable. Pujols is an awesome player. 450 may be an understatement on that homer.
  18. Tie Domi did. He pulled Truffle right into the box with him and then beat him down. Sorry to out you, Truffle.
  19. I'd go, get obscenely drunk during the game, and then find the umpire that was taunting me from the field and bullrush him at an opportune time. Edit: I forgot that i'd rip my shirt off before the bullrush
  20. If it weren't for those damn Crawford boxes that ball wouldn't have been out.
  21. Well, to be fair, the Astros DID tie for the best home record in all of baseball this year. And their record is even better when the roof is closed (holds the crowd noise), so they've made a point of closing the roof for this series. So their park does seem to have some quirky advantages that other parks don't. Still I don't consider that to be an "excuse". You play where you play........ you still have to get the job done. This isnt neccessarily directed at you but Its called HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE! That is the purpose of a home field. You are supposed to know the your home park there and take advantage of playing your home games there. I just dont get this bitching and moaning about the field being small that Im hearing a lot of Cards fans(not neccessarily you) I mean the fences are the same for both teams. Another home run just hit due to the short porch in left that will give the cards fans reason to complain. check the game thread, the complaints have already started
  22. Just barely into the Crawford boxes. You people can call me pathetic all you want, but the field is just a nightmare! If your players can't pull a couple of Pettitte pitches into those boxes over the course of 6 innings, you've got little room to talk. Feel better now? yep. Do you?
