It depends if they were supposed to go on contact or not. I would imagine that since the infield was back they were, in which case it's on Burnitz.

No. Burnitz didn't go on contact, and only went toward the plate when he realized Murton was about 20 feet from 3rd base. he was out by 40 feet.

Sure you will. Just make up stats that nobody will be able to confirm: The Cubs are 5-12 on days when Neifi Perez hits a grounder that bounces more than 4 times. note: I'm not actually implying that the great Fred invents his stats.
