    he really should, but he probably never will because the media doesn't really like him. Exactly. It's too bad, because the man was about as dominant as it gets. I think the media will come around after Pedro retires and the majority of reporters who had direct dealing with him start falling to the wayside. Fans realize what Pedro accomplished and that's the most important thing.

    Seriously? I know things are tough in the Bronx right now, but why on earth would they be willing to gamble on a pitcher who 1. was never successful as a starter and 2. hasn't started a game since 2005? That's just ridiculous.

    To play devil's advocate, at what point is it Corey's responsibility to take care of himself? Sure, his development was thrown all out of whack, but he had natural talent that is innate. He's been in the bigs for five years now. At a certain point, he has to realize that it's his responsibility to work on himself, either in the off-season or by working with teammates who have the right approach to the game.

    It's a shame that they're only doing fairly recent games. It would be really neat to see some games from the 69 season get some Cubs legends in their prime.

    As a resident of the Wrigleyville area, I got an email today regarding purchasing tickets for the June 11 make up game with Houston. They're selling them half-price by using the code "neighbor" when purchasing tickets. Just thought I would throw that out there for any interested parties.

    If this were an isolated instance of Dusty pointing fingers, then yes I would understand his frustration. However, ever since he left San Francisco (and even during that battle between him and Sabean), the negatives have never been his fault. If you lived in Dusty's world, someone else was always to blame. Hendry made him play the kids, Trib never opened the pursestrings for him, fans are to blame for him getting booed.

    The funny thing about that statement was that despite Hendry telling Dusty to play the young guys and not overwork Howry and Eyre, Dusty did the exact opposite whenever possible.

    are you joking or what? Yeah, I bet if we put together a team of only Japanese players, they'd never be able to beat players from other countries in an international exhibition. They would simply be over matched... That exhibition means nothing. It was before the baseball season, most of the players the Americans sent weren't even in baseball shape yet. Look, Ichiro and Matsui are good but they are rare. Nomo, yea he won games one year, but where is he now? Otsuka isn't that great. I'm just saying the Red Sox must feel like suckers now paying all that money to a mediocre pitcher. Matsuzaka was good against Japanese hitting, but he can't handle MLB hitting.     The man's lost two legs, a bladder and has had numerous serious surgeries. At this point, I'm convinced the only way he never comes back to the microphone is by act of God. with that said, let him sing it all the time.
