  1. Bench: drop Trout, add Julio Rodriguez
  2. Armstrong first walked on the moon just before 11 pm eastern daylight time. It was probably actually the landing that would've occurred during Santos home run. This was game 2 of a double header and the box on baseball reference doesn't list a starting time. Game 1 started at 1:05 and took under 2 hours. Santo homered in the 3rd inning so the 4:18 PM landing may make more sence... if this happened.
  3. nice But seriously - 69 pitches over 3 innings. Maybe would've gotten through 1 more but seeing how he was struggling it made sense just to call it early.
  4. Drop Harper, add Pete Alonso
  5. Mark Appel is being called up by the Phillies.
  6. 2B - Drop: Albies (100) Add: Semien (200) I'm only at 900 so that should be good. Also: LF Drop: ONeill Add: Yordan Alvarez (Both 100)
  7. At the beginning of the season, i was interested in seeing who would have a better season between Madrigal and Eloy. Right now Eloy is winning by being injured and therefore not actively harming the WS
  8. Bench Move: Drop Seiya, Add William Contreras.
  9. "Everybody else in the penalty box gets 2 minutes for roughing"
  10. Bases loaded, one out in the bottom of the 8th, and the Reds' pitcher induces a GB to the second baseman. Easy double play to get out of the inning, right? Nope. Second baseman has trouble getting ball out of his glove, gets guy at 2nd, but Hayes beats throw to 1st. Run scores. Reds get the no-hitter but lose. Correction: doesn't count as a no hitter
  11. Bryant has also been on the IL since April 25th.
  12. I'll be damned, you're right. Gehrig won in 1927 and didn't get votes again until 1931. Same with Walter Johnson after winning in 1924. Although that must have been an AL only thing. Look at Hornsby in the 20's; he got votes throughout the 20's despite winning in 1925. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hornsro01.shtml The rules were different in the NL since the AL and NL were still essentially separate leagues at the time. It really wasn't until the 60's that they started becoming one league and they didn't stop actually existing as separate entities until 2000.
  13. fWAR has Baylor at 3.6 WAR and 24th in AL among hitters With Juan Gone it's 3.5 fWAR and 31st in AL among hitters. Going through the MVP stuff, I had to figure that baseball writers must have just hated Ruth. He led all of MLB in WAR 10 times yet only received MVP votes in 3 seasons. Compare that to Gehrig who got MVP votes 11 times. Maybe, but from 22 to 28 it was a different award with weird rules that led to Ruth only winning once (prior winners were apparently ineligible). By the time the BBWAA MVP award came into existance in 1931, Ruth was at the end of his career, (but probably should've won in 31 and should've received votes in 33)
  14. Yeah I didn’t understand why he faced McMahon. Guess Ross showing a little trust in him plus it’s only the 5th inning. But definitely didn’t look comfortable out there I believe McMahon was his 3rd batter, he had to face him. they were saying that either on the broadcast or the radio (i was flipping between them on MLB.tv due to audio issues with Marquee), but McMahon was the 4th (Bryant, Cron, Rodgers, McMahon).
  15. Question: bench players are supposed to be players that had less than 10 golfers last year, right? If so how do Andy and Derwood have Stanton who had 35?
  16. C Stephenson 25 1B Guerrero Jr 200 2B Albies 100 3B Riley 100 SS Bichette 75 LF O'Neill 100 CF Mookie 75 RF Acuna 75 DH Harper 150 900
  17. Against those teams in 2019/21 (didn't play them in 17, 18, 20): 65 PA - .203/.262/.254 for a .516 OPS. I didn't bother splitting them out to each team since it's only 65 PA total against the 4. Doesn't mean he won't somehow hammer us, but he does suck now.
  18. Yeah if we're being honest, if God himself came down and plucked the 50 best players in the world and dropped them into the Saudi League, I would probably still watch 90% as much as I do now. The difference in skill between these guys is so miniscule, and at the end of the day, it's still gorgeous scenery, timeslots that generally don't overlap with anything else, and the thrill of knowing that once or twice a summer, you can pull off one of those shots yourself. If you just told me that...Cam Smith or whoever was suddenly the best player on the Tour, it would take me like three weeks to adjust. I wonder how many people are like my dad (and I really) who use golf as background noise on a Sunday afternoon while hanging around the house (or in my case, sometimes working). Also, one of the things that really makes watching enjoyable for me is something that the Saudi tour wouldn't be able to offer: The last three tournament winners, Luke List, Tom Hoge, and Scottie Scheffler were all first time PGA Tour winners. Watching guys win for the first time, especially guys like Hoge and List who are in their 30s, is amazing. Watching Theegala make an insane run is something that this high end tournament won't offer. It'll just be a bunch of rich pricks playing for no real stakes.
  19. Is it better than Admirals? Admiral outranks Commander, so no.
  20. I don't think the FCC can do anything in this case. They don't regulate profanities on cable. People can file complaints, but the FCC will just toss them.
  21. I'm watching the skycast on espnews.
  22. am i missing something here? It's 2022. That tweet is from a year ago.
