  1. On Andruw Jones: Hilarious.
  2. You should chant back "NEVER NEVER!" Never at .500! Seriously, they have never had a season above .435 (2004) and have had several below .400. This is their tenth year and the first one even where they are even competing. What a pathetic franchise.
  3. Thas was fast. I now wish that I hadn't used the last word just to see what other excuse they could have come up with. Link to the thread? Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd we are now Sox fans. Congrats.
  4. I was saving that one, way to blow it Boo CubsGM Boo Know your place [deleted] you On par with the rest of your performance, you break up the No-No. Congrats Well, at least Halladay still has a no-no going (according to the official scorer, the Cubs have only reached on errors).
  5. RsBI, I don't really care for anyway so I'm fine with it. What are Edmond's numbers as a Cub so far? 20 Games: .288 Avg, .328 OBP .503 SLG Also, against RHP: .327 AVG, .362 OBP, .577 SLG He is 0-7 against LHP with 3 Ks
  6. Except for the fact that it was Reed Johnson, sure.
  7. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Ha.
  8. 40 Wins people! Last year it took until July 1st to get to 40 wins (also got to .500) 06/08/2007: 27 wins 06/08/2003: 34 wins Its also the first time the Cubs have ever had 40 wins as early as June 8 (The closest was in 98 when they had 38).
  9. OPS is simply a way of looking at how good a hitter a player is in a total sense. By looking at the parts, you can see what type of hitter a player is: High OBP, low SLG = gets on base well but doesn't hit for a lot of power. Theriot is a good example right now. Low OBP, High SLG = player hits for power, but probably is not too patient, see Soriano. High OBP, High SLG = Well rounded player. Low OBP, Low SLG = sucks.

  11. Not the first Cubs draft pick to be shown hitting someone, I think Schafer was also shown hitting someone. Also, for not having all that much power according to scouting reports, the videos of Flaherty keep showing him hitting home runs. Doesn't mean anything, but still funny.
  12. I think this is the first year I have had more than one win (if I get a win at all). I started something like 0-4.
  13. June 29, 1952 they were trailing 8-2 going into the ninth and scored 7 to win, but I can't find a 9-1 comeback. I looked at Retrosheet.org and couldn't find it (Click the year, team, and game log to look at the games).
  14. they were showing a graphic on BBTN after the highlights on the all-time series between the Cubs and Dodgers and Ravich notes how they have each won 1010 games, and Phillips notes, "That's a .500 record!" Ravich paused for a split second and then said, "Yes it is, good job, Steve." You could tell he just wanted to sigh and shake his head, maybe curse.
  15. Huh? He was asking about the triple play, not the triple steal. (And in this case it should be credited as a caught stealing and an error on who threw the ball.
  16. by "share the time" i assume you mean in the same way that Ward shares the time with Lee at first. Pie's stats vs. righties aren't much different from Johnson's. Pie is faster, has a better arm, and can play about as good of defense as Johnson does. I don't see the harm in playing Pie vs. righties if you want to get Pie going at all. He's not saying that Pie shouldn't, he's saying that Pie won't get playing time. Its funny that the revolving door has moved from C to CF and yet the solution, just like last year, is in AAA.
  17. I'm going to Wrigley for the first time since 01 or 02 on Sunday.
  18. I thought it was at 40 after Edmonds signing? I thought Chad Fox made it 39 and Lassie 40. Guzman is on the 60day DL, so its still 39. Atleast according to Cubs.com
