  1. completely different pitcher. Uh, no. my bad, thought the change was made before the fontenot AB. then yes, fontenot was dumb for swinging at the first pitch. Thats fine, Fontenot still seems to be taking the place of the useless light hitting stupid middle infielder. Its nice to only have one instead of several, but still, how about none?
  2. well, he's over 1.000 ops .304/.387/.622/1.009 Did you add in his sac fly? Your OBP total looks a little high, at least from what I calculated. What sac?
  3. Murton! I'm going to guess that when Johnson comes back, EPatt stays, Fontenot is gone. I don't think the Cubs consider Eric capable of playing second in the majors. Most people don't consider Fontenot capable of playing in the majors.

  5. 1928 was the first season that Kiki Cuyler played for the Cubs...
  6. As an Italian American and somebody who shares the last name with one of the players regularly bemoaned here, all I have to say is: Dear Italian Team, GROW A PAIR. Although Spain is almost as bad.
  7. Nevermind, it can apply: (Note, this is from Wikipedia, so it could be wrong)
  8. How does the first baseman have anything to do with a balk? You can't throw to an unoccupied base. I'm pretty sure that's what got that balk called on Lilly a while back. Lee was in for the bunt and didn't get to the base. I thought that applies to the runners. Usually if you throw to a base where the player isn't covering, the ball keeps going, so its your own damn fault. That, and as long as the first baseman is moving to the base, it probably would count.
  9. How does the first baseman have anything to do with a balk? Also, will you people please not troll WSI. We don't want them coming here, so let them be mired in their own misery.
  10. This is hilarious. I was playing a computer game, came back to check on the game and all I saw was this Marquis bashing and thought, damn, we must be screwed...until I read Fred's inning recap and realized it was 10-5 Cubs.
  11. I think that the Cubs best chance is going to be either Harden or Burnett. I don't see them having the goods to compete for C.C. while Harden and Burnett, due to their injury histories, might come cheaper. I like Harden.
  12. I thought I would go watch the ninth in case something happened, I turned the TV to WGN and all I saw was the shot of the bushes in from of the batters eye restaurant and heard silence. I was like WTF is going on? Then I heard the music and started laughing.
  13. Now you're just being a troll. Go away.
  14. This is not to be said by any Cubs fan, ever.
  15. Still, it was a great match to watch.
  16. Yeah, at least we weren't swept by, I don't know, Kansas City. That would really suck.
  17. I hate how this team can go from at home looking like it could be the best to looking like the Pirates on the road.
  18. I wonder how many hitters former reliever Eric Plunk, erm, plunked in his career. 32
  19. For the love of god pinch hit for the midget strikeout.
  20. There are a couple sports in the summer Olympics that I like, but without baseball I don't really care. Now the Winter Olympics I love.
